What is "low crowd" season these days?

The end of August into Sept is pretty much empty. It's really hot and humid, but empty. Just avoid Labor Day weekend and you'll be fine.

I think the family of 4 for $1500 ad has gotten a lot more people down there, plus the Happiest Celebration on Earth is pulling a lot of people into the parks. Hopefully once that celebration is all done, they'll go back to the normal crowds levels. *crosses fingers*

When is the Happiest Celebration on Earth done?

I think it's getting to the point where crowds at WDW are like eggs: Medium, Large, Extra Large and Jumbo... there are no "Small" eggs.

They're just going to have to build another park. There's Disney Land, DisneyWorld how about Disney Country but where?

Been to WDW during Halloween in 2002, 2003 and 2005. Although there was a difference between 2002 and 2005 it was still very good... I even seen ToT with a walk on (empty queue, nobody in front).

I guess, except for part of January and September, October is still low compared to other dates... Even if the Food and Wine festival and the Mickey's not so Scary Halloween Party does bring a lot of extra traffic...

We have been to WDW the first week in Dec. and the second week of Oct., Dec. was less crowded (must elaborate that it was 2001). We have been to Universal the first week of May, second - third week of Sept. and first week of Oct (with MNSSHP thrown in). May was the least crowded of those, with Sept. a close second.

After the lasts year hurricane seasons it may get a bit quieter, or need more to pull people in.

I didn't know you could ride "several rides" over and over without getting out. Would you please give us a list of those rides? Sure would appreciate knowing which rides they are.

I was there during the last week of Sept. Not crowded at all. The only ride I had to Fast Pass was Soarin'. I was able to walk on to everything. I did worry about hurricane season, but took a chance. It was worth it.

How about Nov before Thanksgiving? I heard that was 2nd least crowded time after mid Sept. Was anyone there early Nov last year? How was it?

I went the week before Thanksgiving in 2004. It was great, wonderful weather and low crowds. I think our longest wait was like 10 minutes for Winnie the Pooh, hth

Yes, Halloween night are sell outs. But if rides are not important it isn't that bad at all (so much other stuff to do)

Iger stated when he took over for Eisner that they would not be building a new theme park anytime soon. They will; however, be investing heavily in the existing theme parks. New rides and attractions, refurbished attractions, etc.

Adding new rides and attractions should, theoretically, create less wait times at all the other parks and attractions. For example, EE should draw more people to AK; which in turn would create less crowds at the MK, EPCOT, and MGM.

Iger was more specific than that. He didn't highlight new attractions, but rather making the best use of the existing assets. Most folks take that to mean that he'll be upgrading the utilization of the attractions that are there. Rehabbing attractions that need it, surely will be part of it, but I believe he specifically meant that he'll be having changes made that will put more guests in the attractions that are currently under-utilized.

Many school systems have added Fall Breaks to their calendars and some systems have gone to year-round schooling. These changes give more opportunities for folks to visit during what has traditionally been some of the slow times for WDW. This should take some of the pressure off of the traditionally crowded periods.

There are many (I'm guessing the list keeps growing) events that draw big groups during some of the "off-times" like cheerleading and band competitions.

When our kids are out of school for good, we'll plan our visits during the "slow" periods as best we can.

Were one of the families who have year round school. If I had the vacation time and some more money, we could go during three slow times. We could go to Disney in September, starting the week after Labor Day, a week after Thanksgiving or the first week of March. Wouldn't want to go in June.

As you can see, we are going in September. My kids start their first break on September 8th.

we were there in dec 2005 and were on small world- there were NO crowds so we just asked if we can stay on (it was for our 4yr old niece!- i would not torture myself like that! )

BREAK???? what break-- i thought i planned my vacation to the T checking out school holidays, WWS events, crowd levels and now you throw this at me!

we are going sept 16/24th- please dont tell me there are going to be crowds because of breaks!

I think that September (post labor Day), Early December and January (post-New Years) are probably the best bets for low crowds.
