What is it with the costs!

I just phoned up for Sequoia Lodge June 8th - 11th and got quoted £608 room only with my AP for 2 adults. Yet online with tickets costs £630!

Thats seems so wrong to me, they definately said pounds im sure of it, but it just seems wrong.

Is this usual, just wasn't expecting it to be so much ?

Any helpfrom anyone who's more experienced than little old me would be great!

Yes, unfortunately it is getting more and more usual that room only with an AP works out only slightly less (and sometimes even more ) than a package.

I'm not even going to phone about room only prices with an AP for our proposed trip next May until the AP magazine which covers those dates comes out - that will probably be around the beginning of April (for April, May and June).

And i suppose in this magazine they'll have the dates and hotels that have a % saving.....

So annoying when your having fun planning, i really want to stay on site round the lake but this time but in Sep this year it cost me £300 to stay at the HI with Eurostar tickets! for 3 nights and it's so difficult to gauge whether it really is worth that amount of extra money.

I got quoted £1,470 room only at NPB with shareholders discount (20% on room only), online the same dates for a package came up as £930.00, I know this included an extra day and night free and a free under 12, but even so that still doesn't add up.

For our trip in September I got a RO price too - it was £67 more than a package price. We didn't have APs but I'm not sure there would have been much discount at that time anyway.... I think it does depend on when you go and where you stay on whether you get a good discount.

As someone has said here if the 'package' includes a free night or another offer then that can well be better than any AP discount...
