Am I the only one? I realized last Sun. That last year this week we were at the World. I have retraced what we did everyday this week. I could remember just about every thing we did. Each day this week at any given time I would look up at the time and close my eyes and remember what park we were at what fun we were having. What is it about that place that make so much fun and such great memories. We had the vacation of a life time. Thank goodness that we have a Land/Sea package booked for May 2004. I'm not sure I can wait that long but we have a lot to look forward to. I love Disney World and I am really glad for these boards to know that there are other people that love it as much as we do. Thank you

I have been doing the exact same thing. I'm probably boring my boyfriend with the phrase, "One year ago right now we were..." :D But, I can't help it! I wish I was back there again...hopefully we can swing it sometime in 2004.

We were also there this week last year ! And, our next trip is May 2004 too!! There is just no place on earth like WDW! My birthday was last week and I used my amazon.com gift certificate to purchase a deluxe Passporter. It arrived yesterday and I just love it! I just wish my family was as excited about the world as I am. <sigh>

OK, I may not have total recall, but wow, do I go back for what I like to call mind-visits to the World often! I'll listen to the Illuminations CD and it just puts a smile on my face, and send a tingle down my spine, just as it does every time I stand around the World Showcase Lagoon watching the spectacular. Or at night, as I'm lying in bed, waiting for sleep to come, I'll start planning my next trip (oh, so close, and yet always so far away), thinking, "OK, well, I'm going to arrive at noonish, so first thing I'll do is..." and I always hope that maybe, cause I'm in my Happy Place when I doze off, maybe I'll dream about it. Then, of course, there's my just-about-daily visits to these boards, to revisit the magic and help others plan and enjoy and reminisce about their trips, past , present and future...

Lord, Disney is the best thing since chocolate!

I really can't put my finger on exactly what it is that I love so much about Disney World, I just know I love it. :teeth: I have so many wonderful memories, and there are so many new ones to be made. After every trip I start planning the next one immediately. Disney really is magical. :earsgirl:

WDW is magical. I was fortunate when I was young to make several trips to Disney, first trip in 1972. And now when I go it is like I am still a kid. This is the one place where I truly don't have any worries "Hakuna Matata".

It is nice to have an a pass now. I remember when I would tour the park with my little coupon book and look enviously at those who had that little card that got you on any ride as many times as you wanted. Would love to have on of those coupon books now. I would frame it and put it in my Disney collection.

Have a great Disney day. :p

I think what it is about the World is this: it's a vacation from reality, and who doesn't need that from time to time? When you walk down Main Street.. it's clean, there's no crime (except for the occassional pickpocket who DARES distrub the illusion!), and the people are friendly! The music piped in makes you feel happy and the smell of cinnoman buns... mmmm. When can I go?

You are not the only one!

We say what we were doing years ago AND what we will be doing on future visits...remember on this day in '97 when we rode Mr. Toad 10 times in a row...

We are OBSESSED!:p

My husband put the Resort Wake up call as the sound that the computer makes when it boots up. Everytime I hear it I smile and remember waking up at the Contemporary in May (right before my medical delema started). Now no matter how sick I feel I can smile and think I will be hearing this favorite sound waking up at Pop Century for Christmas.:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I have always loved Disney. Since I was little and got my set of albums with Aristocats and Bambi and Black Beauty I have been hooked. I have given up a complete set of original Nancy Drew Mysteries but not my Disney. They are the magic that makes me think every day will be better... that there is something in this world that is worth bringing your children to see. It all makes me feel good. That is the best way I can describe it to anyone. It feels good.

It's something they put in the water. Oh that can't be it because we all have our brita bottles (Thanks to these boards.). LOL.
It's pure magic. You're right it is a place away from reality, the real world were everyone isn't happy all the time. I love it. I was trying to explain to my sil why we keep going back every few years even though my kids are older and I thought to myself.
If you have to ask you just don't get it.
She and my bil went last year to MGM and left the park early before fantasmic. (Even after I said this was not to be missed.) I told my husband and he just laughed and said-
"What a waste of a park pass."

Exactly.. You either get it or you don't. My family goes to a Disney Park and my sister and her husband go to Las Vegas. Go Figure!!

:smooth: [I just like being with all the characters and my family. When I think about being there I think of the speed of Space Mountain and the loops of Rock and Roll Roller Coaster and the sudden drops of Tower of Terror. The food is good, especially the pizza at CM's.

What I don't like is the sound of the toilets. They are just really too loud.

I also love the pools at all the monorail resorts. :earsboy:

It's in the water there, a secret elixir I think. It sure is strong, whatever it is.

If we're not at WDW we are planning our next trip. You are not not alone in being caught in that web of magic that only Walt Disney could spin.:earsboy: :earsgirl: :sunny:

I know we just got back from 9nts on 8/23 and i wish we were going back for the holidsays.lol.... Im already thinking about next summers trip. We used to go in the fall , but with middle school and high school its hard to take dd out. We will probably go back next aug. Every time i mention it to anyone, whether at work or family they all say "your going back again, arnt you tired of going to the same place ", or "or why dont you go some where else"its funny because one of my sisters has a house down the Cape, so i always say well you guys are down there all the time. or people go to NH. WE love the cape, but i dont know i guess im hooked on Disney.lol I just dont say as much cause i know what they will say; lol

ncbyne Happy Belated B-Day. There is definitely something about that place. We are doing the Land/Sea package in May, 4 days in the park 3 days on the ship. I don't think that 4 days in the park is enough. Even though we have seen most of the parks. I don't feel that is enough time. I know its selfish. I think we can swing going a few days earlier. We are staying at the BC for the first 4 days. I thought this might be a good chance to stay at a differant resort. Even the ones at DTD. We would get there Friday morning and have all day Fri. and all day Sat. Before we check in at the BC. on Sun. morning. We like the deluxes. What do you all think about the ones at DTD? I am so glad that everyone else on theses boards feel the same about the World. It is a great place, you can literally get away from reality and have a great time where most of the people are great to be around. Thanks again

Yes it is Magical, I think even moreso for adults than kids. Because we remember what it was like to be a child and not have to worry about adult-like things. We could run and play and dream........We were allowed to let our imaginations soar, and very few jobs today give their employees that support and freedom.

Remember the TV show "Fantasy Island"? I know I wished there was a place like that I could go to. But there is - Disney World - and it truly is, "The Happiest Place on Earth!"

Thanks Walt, Roy, and all Cast Members for allowing me to embrace my imagination!

I love threads like this, because it tells me no matter how crazy the rest of the world thinks I am there are people out there that understand!!

I can't get enough of Disney. We haven't even gone on this years trip and I am already ready to plan the next one. I keep thinking about all the family members I would love to share the "magic" with but I don't think they would get it. We (DH, DS and my parents) took a couple of family members last year and they didn't get it. I don't think they understood why there was so much planned ahead of time. I wanted to make the trip perfect, so I had most of our meals planned with P.S., had the food vouchers so no one had to worry about paying for meals and we stayed at OKW.

I am a Disney planning geek, so I guess it may have looked like I was going overboard on the planning to someone not use to this. Well the original 5 of us know how I plan and have no complaints.

I go to these boards, the official Disney website and the Disney store to get my fix!!
