I've never been but reading all the messages about how Boma's their favorite makes me wanna go!

So tell me what is it about Boma that you love?

The Bobotie...NEVER would have tried it since we were picky eaters a few years ago when we first went. But our waiter encouraged us to and I loved it...even went back for seconds of it. Here's the description, although it doesn't do it justice:

Bobotie - lamb and beef quiche with onions, raisins and bread.

Everything we had there, we enjoyed. The service was excellent and a chef came out to bring us fried oreos :cloud9: for a honeymoon congrats. That definitely topped off the meal.

The falafel and the cous cous.
LOVE Boma!
Hate leaving feeling like the weight of my stomach is actually going to cause me to topple over :rotfl:

The bread pudding-type dessert. It almost tops O'hana (but not quite)...
That's about all I liked at Boma, I ate off the kid corner. Not much for different kind of foods. It is a beautiful restaurant though!

Personally, I like that there is plenty of great comfort food AND plenty of exotic things to try.

There are quite a few things about Boma that my family likes..

First the AKL is a beautiful resort. It's wonderful to wander around the resort and explore.

Two the food is wonderful. There are so many different choices on the buffet. My husband is a huge fan of the bobotie as is my son. My husband is also a big fan of the zebra domes. For me as a vegetarian, I love knowing that I will be able to find plenty to eat. I really love the hummus selection!

Three the food has always been really fresh and tasty each time we have gone. We have seriously never had a bad meal here.

And finally four.. The servers. We have had really great service here. Our servers have always been helpful and friendly. On more than one occasion our servers will offer to get a chef to walk me around the buffet.

It's always one of the restaurants we do year after year. :goodvibes

The seafood (or chicken) coconut curry soup. The breads. ...oooh so many things. I can't wait to go back!

Boma has excellent food but the main reason I love it is because it is very different. I love trying new foods, things I wouldnt easily get at home. Boma isn't for the very picky eaters or for those that only like simple rather plain dishes. However, they do offer plenty of familiar foods just in case but for us thats no fun!

Location and the chance to sample unusual food while still having "regular" food available. For me it's location more than anything. I love the AKL!

I have only been once, last summer. I loved it because:
1. I love to try new foods
2. It was fun to see AKL, never been there before.

I would love to go again, but I live with 3 picky eaters, so I may be going by myself :rotfl:

My ex (who I went with) is a guy who ONLY eats chicken and noodles or chicken and rice. Daily. He loved Boma too... they had options for him (kids meal) and he did try some other things and found things he liked.... so even picky eaters may enjoy Boma!

I love all of the soups there. There's so much variety and the different use of spices is great. After eating so much regular "park food" it's nice to have a buffet where there are some different items on the menu. I love trying new things and Boma is great for that. Plus, I don't have anything like this in my hometown.
