What is in your bag?

Wife brings a small cross body with Passports in a ziploc (for booze since Canadian DL is no longer accepted as valid ID), park hopper tickets and wallet (duh), glasses, small sunscreen and small travel advil. Phones and fitbits stored in the cross body for water rides. This makes the security check a breeze.

We skip bringing any sort of food, snacks are purchased in the park if needed. I've never found carrying food in the park to be worth it, I'd rather split meals, drinks and snacks to keep the budget down when needed.

Is this recent? Last time we were in DL Aug 2015 and WDW Dec 2015, I was able to use my BC DL as id.

2015 April - my DL was denied in DCA (no where else mind you), I even talked to a supervisor about it and followed up online. This was to purchase alcohol, not other purchases where DL was fine.

Now I don't have an enhanced DL, so that may be accepted, but not a regular one.

Poop, guess I'll have to carry our passports with us.

To be honest, I've only been asked for ID a few times...guess that is what happens after you turn 40-something.

Chiming in to say my BFF is Canadian and both of our recent trips (December 2014, October 2015) she was asked to show her passport in DCA.

Ticket, ID, phone, lip balm in pocket. Sunglasses on face. Sometimes, if we feel like we need a little more (usually more necessary in WDW), we will take a backpack with water bottle, rain gear, big camera and all three take turns carrying. I used to be a pack mule - snacks, bottles of medication, packs of bandaids, wet wipes, Ziploc bags. No more. If someone needs meds or a bandaid, I send them to first aid. I have abandoned my Sherpa ways.

I can fit all of this in my medium-sized crossbody purse:
-medium-large blanket
-2 water bottles
-snacks
-tickets
-wallets
-hair ties
-band aids
-chapstick
-phone
-camera (w/ case)
-video camera (w/ case)
-Nintendo DS for little kids (sometimes w/ case)
-hand sanitizer
-sunglasses
-fast passes
-pens
-advil
-room key
-ponchos (if we're headed to California Adventure and plan to ride GRR that day)

It sounds like a lot for security to go through, but I always have everything organized and unzipped so that they just have to search through all the pockets and I'm good to go.
The greatest thing is, the purse is partially waterproof and it can stay on me when I go on most rides. I can be forgetful, especially while in a fun place like Disneyland, so it's important that I have a crossbody bag that I don't need to remove. I hate taking large backpacks into the park, because it's so hard to manage. The crossbody bag isn't heavy unless I put multiple water bottles in it. I've pretty much turned into the pack mule of the group, which I'm completely okay with! lol

I have a Vera Bradley backpack and a 4 and 5 year old. We are going without a stroller this time. I will carry:
Wallet with tickets/APs
Phone
Charger
small first aid kit (bandaids, advil, alcohol wipes)
change of clothes in a baggie for my 4 year old (hopefully this is the last time this is needed)
sunglasses
small sunscreen
hand sanitizer
wet wipes
hair tie or two
a water bottle
a few small snacks

My husband carries our camera with a cross body strap
One night we will stay for PTN and bring a full size backpack with a blanket to sit on instead of the Vera one.

i use a baggalini cross body bag with a lot of pockets and a wallet built in. i carry credit cards, cash, id, pass (duh), mirror, chapstick/lip gloss, pill holder, band aids, lotion, hand sanitizer, gum, snacks (usually a sandwich and a few granola bars), my phone and sunglasses.

question: is DL still pretty lenient on bringing food into the park. last time we went we brought water bottles and granola bars without any problems. what have people gotten away with taking into the parks in regards to food.

you can take in anything you want as long as it's not in a glass container and if you want to take sandwiches, i believe they need to be assembled already (so you can't take in a loaf of bread, a jar of mayo, a bunch of different deli meats, etc)

I travel light...
ID, money, park tickets, sunscreen, bottle or 2 of water (frozen at the beginning of the day), small towel at the bottom for frozen water bottles (condensation), a few small snacks (jerky, granola bar, nuts), light weight flip flops for wet rides, travel-size bottle of Tylenol, rechargeable phone port & MUST HAVE chap stick. When on rides, sunglasses go in the bag. Ok, maybe I don't pack so light! :teeth:

The pre-assembled sandwich rule seems so random to me. Any idea why?

Great question!!!! I'm struggling with this a bit. Our last trip we had a stroller so we had the kitchen sink with us. This time I have to fit it all in a crossover bag. My biggest worry is the change for the penny press machines weighing me down. Although if anyone tries to mug me they are going to get hurt. Lol. My son wants to carry a small backpack but it I'm betting that will last a day.

For WDW I take so much more than when we go to DLR! Having just a quick walk back to our room really makes a difference.

So for DLR I have a crossbody bag small enough to carry my phone and not much more. I have a phone case that holds my id, room key, a cc and a $20. A couple of band aids, some ibuprofen and a small cloth to clean my sunglasses and DH's glasses. Maybe a chapstick. That is it. If it gets cold I run back to the room and grab my hoodie - I am the only one to get cold, DH and DD are walking furnaces.
I have so many bags that if it is supposed to be hot I carry a little bigger bag that can fit a water bottle.

DH takes his travel wallet (a small wallet that holds his id, room key, cc and a little cash) and his phone. DD (13) does not carry anything.

In my backpack I've got:
SLR Camera
Three lenses
Water bottles
Possibly a hoodie for later that night

Water and Coke zero, wallet, cell phone, room key, hand sanitizer or wipes, sometimes a few snacks, Mickey ears or hats, lanyards with pins, whatever else kids throw at me on way to the park. It's a backpack!

We try not to take a lot to the parks. Phones so we can find each other, a little cash, a debit card, park hoppers, and sunscreen. Maybe $1 ponchos for the water rides. Oh, and a phone charger. I just got a new camera and am trying to decide if I'm taking it with our not. The iphones take good pic's, but the camera is better. :) Looking for a small sling pack to use.

We have a stroller for our 2-yr-old, so we hang water bottles off of it (one filter bottle per person). We generally throw a gallon ziploc of safe snacks in the bottom (sweatshirts usually join it during the day). Those stay in the stroller, the diaper bag goes on rides with us.

In the backpack diaper bag we have:
Epi Pens
Benadryl and dropper
Two changes of clothes for toddler (in ziplocs)
Diaper changing kit
Clorox wipes (we thoroughly wipe down high chairs and tables - she's even contact allergic)
Hand wipes
Sun hat
Travel sunscreen

If wanting to take pictures - Crossbody camera bag with:
DSLR (with 18:135 lens)
Wallet
case for FPs, APs, etc
Sunglasses
Phone
Portable charger
Lip balm
Hand sanitizer clip

If not wanting to take pictures - Crossbody cell phone bag with:
Phone
APs
ID
One credit card
$20
Disney Gift Card
Hand sanitizer clip

Before my youngest was born (back when we were strollerless, but still had kids), I carried a backpack with water bottles and snacks in it (we also used it to store sweatshirts in), now I just leave that stuff in the stroller.

Maybe the food restriction is because it would look a bit tacky to have a family sit down somewhere and lay out all their sandwich fixings.
