Many of you know that after 8 almost 9 years, Jim has decided we should go our separate ways. I can "stay here" as long as I want, according to him....my name is on the mortgage.

Tha company divisoin where we worked closed....so we are both looking for jobs.

What does he do?

Goes out and buys a BMW Z-4 wih all the accessories and is thilled that the payments are only XXX!!!

He is not old enouh yet to be going through mid-life :) He gets the garage now. We can;t fit my car in their because of all the other stuff.

Do you two have joint ownership on anything? Are you married?

I'd hate for you to be stuck with the bill for his new toy.

Y'all are back together?

He could be having a semi-mid-life crisis. How old is he? My brother and my SO both went through their semi-mid-life crises when they turned 35. Unfortunately, they're both the same age and they're both driving me crazy.

I wouldn't say we are actually together....more like we share a house.

We have NEVER presented ourselves as man/wife. He is 33. I jokingly told him he must be trying to get an early start on attracting 18-20 years olds. Needless to say, I am NOT that young anymore!

They actually let him get that car while he's unemployed?

He is "part-owner/ 20%" of the local Sylvan Learning Centers. Gets absolutley no money from it, but I guess that is all he said. He does have excellent credit. I just think for the $ he put down, and the payments going up about $100/month more than the car he traded in.....well......hope he is paying the mortgage like he claims.

You're only a couple of months older than I am.:) We were born in the same year.;)

Did you say you hope he is paying the mortgage??? To the house that you are living in??

He says he is paying it, but I can;t go into the computer to know for sure. I feel he most likely is because he loves to brag about his good credit history.

I am hoping to get into pharmaceutical sales, but may have to move to do it. I hate change.

You need to find out for sure that he is paying it. I don't want to be cynical or anything, but he could be using the mortgage payments for the car instead. Don't panic, just make sure he is paying it and make sure you have control over that. Have him deposit the money into an account for you, so you can pay it from there if possible.
I don't know how he is going to be able to do anything without a job, but I'd hate to see you lose your house because of him.

I know I am in a special circumstance, but my h direct deposits money into an account, it used to be joint, but we had his name taken off of it. I pay the bills from that account. He has no access to it or the money.

:( I have no words of wisdom, Carol, just wanted to offer you a hug. Good luck and hope things work out.

Good luck with this, Carol. I hope he knows what he is doing. If your name is on the mortgage you should be able to check with the bank and make sure the payments are current.

Well, it is 10:30pm our time and he left 12 hours ago to go play golf with someone who works with his sister. I am sure they are hanging out......sure hope he does NOT get a speeding ticket. He bragged that the car got up to 140 last night! I didn't ask where. Part of me thinks he might have said it to get a reaction.

pull your car in the drive while he is gone

Pop Daddy- you are funny. I am too lazy to get off the DIS to go pull the car in :)
