We may be at Universal during "Grinchmas." I've seen references to it, but the Universal website is very vague. What exactly is there to see or do? What makes this special?

Grinchmas has the Grinch! The Grinch from the movie, not the cartoon. The Grinchmas Grinch actually talks and is a bigger "nuisance" than the cartoon Grinch seen during the rest of the year.

The first years of Grinchmas, it was exciting: whos everywhere, a daily show retelling the story of the Grinch, and even a daily Grinchmas tree lighting. IDK how it was last year, but it's always an Experience.

OH! That sounds fun!!! :lmao: I'm sure our teens will get a kick out of it too. Thanks so much for the info!!! :thumbsup2

Don't they also do up the Suess Landing section with Christmas stuff and transform it some? I've seen some photos and stuff from a few years back it looks extremely cool, definitely on our future to do list as well.

We saw the show back in 2002 (I think it was the first year) and thoroughly enjoyed it. Unfortunately the show was performed streetside and we thought it was deserving of a real venue. IOA needs a year round Grinchmas show in a theater!

We did Grinchmas in '05. It was great. The actors playing the Grinch were so real, and the costuming/makeup so well done that you could almost be convinced it was Jim Carrey under the makeup. And I don't know where they found a dog so identical to the one in the movie.

The Whobilation was so much fun too. It was on a big stage between Circus MG and what is now the Trolley. Again, the costuming and makeup on the Whos was incredible and the show entertaining. The great big crooked Christmas tree was lots of fun too.

We went at Thanksgiving last year, and although not all the decorations were up yet, Suessland seemed a bit bare compared to the previous year. And it was disappointing to know that they were no longer doing Whobilation and the full out Grinchmas.

If they bring it back this year, we might have to hop a plane to go again!

So yea, the rumor is that Grinchmas will be back in all it's glory this year. We'll see. I just can't wait to see it snow in Florida again :goodvibes

I hope they bring it back. I'm looking forward to seeing it this year!

What are the dates that this will be running?

The USO website says:
Enjoy the Holidays at Universal Orlando® Resort!
December 7, 2007 - January 1, 2008

Celebrate Grinchmas™ at Islands of Adventure, and join in the fun of the Macy's Holiday Parade™ at Universal Studios, featuring larger than life balloons from Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.

All the festivities are included with your theme park admission!

These are the only details I could find on their website - at least it has the dates. :confused3

Thanks to so many of you for offering more info. :yay:
