Ok I know I can't control "Mother Nature" here but I've planned this trip for a year and specifically picked early May due to crowds and weather. Now with the celebration, the crowds will be unpredictable and the weather well I feel like crying b/c I want total :sunny: and for May 5th trhough the 8th it looks more like :umbrella: . Somebody tell me that this rain is going to stop before the 5th and my dd is going to be :cloud9:

Send some pixie dust our way!!! Just had to vent, I feel a bit better now :worried:

One thing about the Weather in Disney...... you cannot predict it, and you can have rain one minute and sunshine the next!

yes, it does put a damper on things.... but buy some ponchos at the local dollar store... and GO FOR IT! We love Disney in the rain - no lines, and the people who adventure out in it are usually funny in an "I can't believe I am doing this" way!

I am sure when we go in June it will be the same way - and just hope that it doesnt rain the whole week!
Good Luck!

Does the weather folks ever get your extended 10 day forecast right? LOL! I've been looking at it for several days and some days they had predicted rain they say will be sunny. Some rain is not out of the question but it shouldn't be like August. The temps look great - not super hot - so I think it won't be overly rainy.

We were there in August 2 years ago and it was RAINY - oftened rained starting around 3 or 4 pm and sometimes didn't stop until after we went to bed - no swimming in the pool cause of thunderstorms either! There was even a tornado suspected near DtD so that was fun. We had terrible weather but still had a great time. Don't worry! :goodvibes

Keep in mind

Disney in the rain is much nicer than just about anywhere else in the sun. :cool1:

In Florida you have to be prepared for any kind of weather....I have seen it rain on one side of the street and not the other!

Thanks guys and it's so funny b/c the last time we went 3 years ago, we went in June and my dd cried b/c of the rain so she's not the best trouper. We decided not to go in June again b/c it's the beginning of the rainy season but April and the beginning of May are supposed to be very low rain periods for Florida so I chose this time. I always get antsy with the weather before we go though. I've planned and re-planned everything else so here I am trying to make a deal with the sun gods LOL.

I have lived in FL all my life and all I can say is-Who Knows?
FL weather is so unpredictable. Just be prepared for anything and everything.
This year tops the cake with how unpredictable it can be. A couple nights ago it was in like the 30's that is very wierd for this time of the year.

I was looking at the same thing and thought: that doesn't look too bad. Infact I am looking forward to the weather. Yes I want it perfect every day, but I will take what I can get. Espceailly since it is going to be hot, that always leads to short afternoon showers. We will be there a little bit sooner, but it is looking the same. That reminds me, where is the stroller rain cover I need to pack it.

And keep in mind that WDW property is very large!! Once it was raining where ever we were (maybe BB???) and by the time we got back to our resort it hadn't even rained!

Keep your chin up - oh no, that would mean that you were getting your face wet!!

Have fun and make the best of every situation!

I will ask my daddy to turn the sunshine on as he has done so well in the past and now that he is alot closer to the powers that be it shouldn't be a problem:)
:sunny: :sunny: Sunshine for you where ever you are :sunny: :sunny:

How can you see weather up to May 8?
Which site is this?

One thing that I have learned about FL weather since moving here 2 years ago is this...

In the rest of the country, it seems that if there's a 20% chance of rain, and better than a 50% chance of sun, it gets billed as "Mostly Sunny". In FL, if there is anything above a 5% chance of precip, the gloom-and-doom FL meteorologists call it a "rainy day". If one drop falls from the sky during the day, the nightly news reports it as a washout.

And if it's the weather channel that you're watching... I'd LOVE to know where they get their FL forecast- it seems that it's NEVER right!!!

Take it with a grain of salt... it still beats being at work!!!

I can't tell you how many times we've been to WDW and saw 30 - 40% chance of rain - and never saw a drop. Don't worry.

I figure there is enough to worry about when planning a Disney trip, so I don't bother worrying about things there isn't anything I can do about anyway! Bring a couple rain ponchos and enjoy!!!!!!!!!

I was watching the January weather from the first day our arrival day was on the 15 day forecast. It was supposed to be gorgeous. And for the NINE days before we got there, it was PERFECT. The day we arrived was beautiful, but by then they were saying "chance of rain" on our third and fourth days. Our second day was fine - a little sprinkle in the afternoon during the "Stars and Motorcars" parade, but it was literally a sprinkle for a minute.

Day 3 the monsoon came. The local station showed the entire state being engulfed by this system - 100% rain coverage, period. It rained about 3 inches. The MONTHLY total for January is supposed to be 1.8 inches. It didn't stop raining until about 8:30 that night, and by then we were so beaten down from being rained on since 8 AM we didn't care!

Day 4 was misty, windy and chilly.

Those extended forecasts are worthless. You can check the 15 Day, but it isn't anymore accurate than just outright guessing. If it says it will rain, it may not! Try not to worry about it. We came home with 3 lovely Mickey umbrellas which will be the FIRST things I pack in October. :umbrella:

Last summer when we were there, it rained on us, with thunder and lightening. But we enjoyed it anyway. You are at the happiest place on earth. We did by ponchos before leaving home, but because we didn't mind being wet, didn't wear them very much.

Besides, it is true about the lines for the rides, they get short.

Have fun!! :sunny: :flower: :sunny: :flower:
