What is going on week of Dec4-10

I can't seem to get any reservations at value/mod properties(except Coronado suite) for any time that week. What is going on in Disney that week that this is such a challenge? Anyone??

This Pop Warner week for one thing and they book the value and the Mod's

I know the Pop Warner thing is on the go that same week. From what I understand the resorts are quite full that week. I have been calling trying to apply a discount code with no luck because everything is so full. We are going 3-10 and staying at Pop.

I think that week has pop warner (cheerleading competion, I think)
I know that theres something like that And i'm almost positive its the first week in December. Maybe someone could back that up, or give you the answer.

Isn't Dec 4-10 a blackout period for the discount code? Pop warner and Mousefest are going on. I have a feeling that the "slow, dead times" are a thing of the past. We are going Nov 28-Dec 2 which is supposed to be dead and yet I had a hard time getting POR . Go figure...

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- The Pop Warner Super Bowl celebrates its 75th annual event and its 10th consecutive year at Walt Disney World Resort Dec. 5-11 when more than 60 youth football teams from across the country converge on Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex to compete for national championships in four age groups -- Junior Pee Wee (ages 8-10), Pee Wee (9-11), Junior Midget (10-12) and Midget (11-14). Some international representatives also may be in this year's field.

In addition to the gridiron competition, close to 300 squads will be ready to strut their stuff during the Pop Warner National Cheer & Dance Championships at The Milk House."

So...........you can see why it might be a little crowded at that time!

Good Afternoon Everyone,
Don't worry!!! I have been down the first week of December 3 times during the pop event and the kids, for the most part, are never in the parks. They have games during the day. The problem, which is rare, are the cheerleaders. They are sometimes not watched and do cheers throughout the park and in lines. Nothing disrespectful or annoying.

As long as you check in by 12/4 you would still get the discount if there are rooms available.

The POP Warner event really does not impact the parks, but they do book the Allstar Sports and Allstar Music as well as the POR. They are a good size group so it will affect the resorts.

Pop Warner
Mousefest
Chicago Cubs fest


There are also one or two big (5000+) conventions that week. I honestly think that Disney works overtime to book conventions at that time since they get the fewest reservations. That's why the resorts are so booked. It remains to be seen what the parks will look like.

WE have been that week and stayed at a deluxe. While the parks were not overly crowded, we did see a lot of the pop kids in the parks. All were well behaved and polite. The problem we noticed was that the lines for buses to the value resort were horrible. It would take several buses to carry all the people in line. Moderates were somewhat longer than normal but not as bad.

I would not hesitate to go this week but I would avoid the values at all cost.
