What is going on the beginning of February?

In trying to get a room for the Feb 5th - 12th the only thing available is a Fort Wilderness cabin. Since the Presidents day holiday isn't until the 19th, I'm wondering if anyone knows what be going on that everything is booked.

WDW was running a special for that time. So, it could be booked.

I ran the first weekend in February yesterday and had a few Mods pop up (no Values).

There is Mardi Gras on Feb 5, which a lot of people from LA visit at that time since their schools are closed. There is also a national dance competition and then a national high school cheerleading competition going on.

Thanks. We've been there before when Mardi Gras and the cheerleading competition were running. But I don't remember it being that booked. Guess we'll find out.

As jess20k stated, Mardi Gras people will be there anywhere from Feb. 2 - Feb. 10. Also, a cheerleading competition will be going on Feb. 1 - Feb. 3, and some of them may linger around a few days after that.

Although overall crowds won't be that bad during your week, I recommend going the last week in January to be on the safe side. I'll be there Jan. 26 - Feb. 2, so i'll hopefully be leaving right as the Mardi Gras and Cheerleader crowds kick in.

I'd like to go a little earlier, but the kids school schedule is dictating the trip. We'll be there from the 6th through the 12th. We'll see...

There is also cheerleading comp. Feb. 8-10. Friend & I are going Feb. 7 -11 and staying at Pop. Cheerleader were at AS resorts so definitely didn't want to be there.
