What is going on in WDW on 10/13/17?

We are going down 10/11-16 & friends just asked if they could join us, so I was looking for a studio or 1 bedroom.. there are some openings at OKW (that's where we have a 2 bedroom, but none for 10/13/17. All the other days are available but that one.. Does Food & Wine have something special or perhaps MNSSHP? Anyone have any other ideas? Thanks, Debbie

We are headed down on 10/13 (but that is not likely the cause of everything booking up, lol). For us it is just a Friday and easy to get down there for a nice long weekend for F&W and MNSSHP. I do know it booked up fast, but I don't know of anything else going on besides that season is just very popular. Might have to look into cash options maybe at a Value Resort if on a budget.

Many schools get off for Columbus Day so people going for the week overlapping with weekend travel might be why

The middle two weeks of October are extremely high DVC demand times. The phenomenon you are seeing is very common in those situations, particularly when you are already past the 7 month window, and it is usually not the result of anything special going on, but instead what you are seeing is just one day in the midst of other almost full days that have maybe one or at most two rooms left for the day but the particular day is already full simply because more are checking in than checking out that day.
