What is free dining?

I see this posted a lot, that families are going to Disney and have the free dining package.

I would love to eat for free. How do we sign up for this?

It is a promotion that has run this year and in the past few years that is available by booking a package deal in April through June for travel the end of August-Sept during a slow period in the Resorts. There is only limited availability in each resort so you need to book very quickly after the promo comes out to get the best selection of resorts. Disney Visa holders usually get first dibs a few days before the general public promo comes out. We are going again this year and it was great for us last year, saves a bunch of $$$.

It's a special promo ran early in the year and this is the third year Disney has done the promo. You have to have booked your trip by June 22nd for a trip in August or September to be able to qualify for it. Basically, it is the basic disney dining plan free when you book a regular,full priced( no other discounts allowed) MYW pkg/resort stay with at least a one day park ticket per person.The offer is announced for bookings in early April, and this year must have been booked by June 22.It is for travel during select dates in Aug and Sept which happens to be smack in the height of Hurricane season as well as slow season at Disney.
