What is everyone buying for tween girls?

Uggs are those boots you see all the kids wearing they have fur on the inside, my DD wants a pair anyone know were the deals are???

I wish I could find some deals. I have already spent more than I had planned so $100 for a pair of boots is out of the question this year. Her friend found a "knockoff" pair of Ugg boots at Target for $15.00. Regular price is $25.00. So, she will probably get a pair of them. If anyone finds Uggs at a deal, please post it.

DD also wants anything that has to do with the movie Twilight and she hasn't even seen the movie yet. That stuff is pretty popular with the Tween and Teen age group. She is going to see the movie later on this week, so I am sure everything from Hot Topic is going to be added to her list. Aaaarrrggghh!

My tween is 10 1/2 and she's getting-
1) A fragrance from my MIL in Holland and we don't even know what it is because she sent a huge box of things for her and her baby sister for Sinter Klaas and my husband and haven't even peaked inside to see just what the girls are getting.

2) Ipod
3) 2 games for her DS
4) Uggs
5) Bobby Jack shirts
6) New Heely's
7) new jeans
8) new watch
9) Snow tubing trip and last but not least (or it didn't cost the least)
10) Ski and Spa trip to Aspen

A machine that plays like rain falling, ocean waves, I forget what else is on it. It blocks background noise - I'm not quite sure why she wants it, but it is like #2 on her list. I think she thinks it will help her fall asleep easier.

Wow, DD11 has no clue what UGG's are or coach. I asked her.

Her list:

English Saddle
new bridle and bit
saddle pad
show pad
paddock boots
Ariat clothing
Tall boots
DS lite
guitar hero for Wii

At our house we do one gift for birthdays basically. This year instead of a birthday party each child gets to do something special. My middle boy just turned 8 and we took him to the new Lego Discovery Center in Chicago - he got to pick out one thing he wanted there. On his actual birthday, he got one thing from his brother and sister as well. My daughter is going to AG Place for her birthday with my niece (their b-days are 2 days apart) so she'll likely get to choose something there and then will get another gift from her brothers. We really don't buy 'stuff' the rest of the year - it's just Christmas here and we limit it to around 5 gifts.

DD 12 almost 13yrs old list is very long. Here is a few things she will be getting:

Designer sunglasses (grandma)
Coach luggage (good outlet deal this summer)
Black Berry (the child is very active in after school activities)
Camera (early for our vacation)
Make-up (this one made me realize how old she is getting)
Wii Fit

What she wants:
True Religion Jeans ( I had no idea there where jeans that cost 220.00 wont be happening)
Uggs
Hollister Clothing
American Eagle Clothing
Bowling Balls
Six ball bowling bag

The list goes on but these are the big ones. I really wanted her to get an American girl doll, but she informed me she was too old.

My girlie goes thru phases with the AG dolls. She has gotten them off and on since she was 3 and she was never one to 'make little voices' while she played - but she still does do their hair and change their clothes and stuff. I was hesitant to get one this year but every time the catalog has come this year she has talked about a specific one. I decided since it's likely the last year she'll ask for a doll, I'm getting it for her.

I have a sound machine and I love it! I have owned it for at least 5 yrs now and use it every night. I am a sound sleeper but have difficulty getting to sleep so it really helps.
I think mine was about 20 dollars and I love it:goodvibes

My DD12 princess: will be celebrating her 13th birthday on Dec 27th. Yes, I get the double whammy every year. I usually buy a bunch of items and decide on Christmas Eve what items are for Christmas and what items are for her birthday.

This year my selection of items consist of:
lime green iPod nano 8gb
iTunes gift card
pink digital camera
Chi
Guitar Hero for Wii
lime green saucer chair
clothes
pajamas
Disney Tink pins
floating heart necklace w/diamonds
:santa: WDW vacation Dec 24-28th (This is both Christmas and Birthday!!!) :cheer2:

I am thinking of saving the small items to bring to Disney to open Christmas morning. The other items she will open the night before we leave. She doesn't know that we are going to WDW for Christmas. She thinks we are going to the "mountains." :rotfl:

Has anyone seen the Secret Diary Flash Drive?? Looks very cool. I think it's on Oprah's list this year. I think I'll get it for my 13 year old cousin. It's through www.takeanywhere.com

My sweet niece is a young 10 turning 11 - her birthday is soon and she asked for the Spin Master PixOs Super Studio
&
Bratz Passion 4 Fashion Secret Sign in Journal.

Looking at this thread is very helpful, thanks for the ideas for Christmas!

I have a 13 yr old. She has been asking for a coach purse. I have been hesitant on principal not on cost. Now that I see others are getting them, I wonder if I should reconsider. DD is more teen then tween so it is really hard to get her stuff.

Thanks for the help with this.

My DD is definitly more teen than tween in taste. We had our last AG Christmas at 10. She doesn't play video games and I'm glad so that's out. We won't allow a TV in her room so another possible gift off the list. She already has an Ipod and a phone and got a Chi and a pink camera for her birthday so I'm actually glad that there are a few clothing or accessory items that will excite her as I can't think of much else that she would like.

She would not be getting the Coach bag if it weren't for a tremendous sale at Dillards. I wish we lived near an Outlet but Dillards actually marks them down regularly and they are included when they do the 25 or 50% off the sale price clearances from time to time. Luckily we live in the middle of nowhere so she or anyone else wouldn't know if it was last seasons pattern.

Vera bradley isn't big here in Ca and neither is aeropostal. I guess different regions are different.
.

Vera Bradley is popular here but my DD doesn't care for it. She's a very girlie girl but finds the quilted, flowery fabrics "old Lady"- her words not mine.

Aeropostale is just OK with DD and her friends, they wear it some but wouldn't request it for a Christmas gift.

Guess I'm lucky the kids here like Aeropostale since they actually have decent sales and prices. Abercrombie is the one that will kill you!

Abercrombie AND Hollister - I'm so glad that my DD likes Aeropostale just as much :lmao: and with the sales (30% & 50% off) I've been able to get a few things!

Oh! I did forget that I got her some Vera Bradley things - she already has the book bag so I got more of the accessories in the retired pattern she loves.

No Coach in her future - even though she's a girlie girl (she hates when I call her that ;) ) she's not into purses that much!

anyone else here throw up a little in their mouth when they read some of these posts?

No flames please. I'm happy fo rthose of you who can give your 12 yo such amazing gifts. I'm just blown away that as a society we DO gove some of these things to one so young.

I just looked at this, it looks really cool. I wonder if there is anyone who has actually purchased it, that could tell us if it is worth the $60.

By the way, the website is www.takeanyware.com (you had it mispelled).

I just did! It looks really cool and my is always asking for a locked diary.

She's getting a laptop for Christmas so I thought this would be perfect to go with it.

I thought real hard also about allowing DD to get one. This will be her third Coach item since she already has a purse and a clutch. She honestly treats them like gold. For the first one we shopped at the outlet and after I said no to many we finally found one to purchase. It cost $39 and she paid for it with her birthday money. The clutch I bought for $19 and the purse for Christmas cost $29. At these prices I really do not mind. As far as the principal I feel like I have helped her learn that with frugal shopping she can have the items she wants. I have no problem with her wanting finer things in life as long as it never becomes a "need" or even a demand. She is perfectly happy with a sweater from Target as she is with Hollister. As long as it stays that way she will continue to receive name brand items (bought on clearance of course). Besides, I have seen many purses at Target cost as much as I have paid for her Coach. I would rather have a quality purse than a piece of junk since she takes such good care of her things.

My DD is like yours. She too likes things equally from Target as Holister. Good points about being a good shopper and buying quality items.

We do have an outlet about 45 min from us. Maybe I will give her a note that says she can get a purse (with a price limit) and a trip to the outlet. She babysits so she has her own money and is always willing to share the cost of things.

I am having a really hard time. She has Uggs from her birthday. She has a phone from our plan which she is happy with. Last year was easy she wanted a camera and a Wii. GRR maybe I should have just bought the Channel sunglasses she tried on in Vegas last month.

Thanks for the help ladies.

I know $60 is a little steep. But what a great idea! I think it's great that they can use it and stay off of the internet!
