Simple question but what kind of discount do you get on park tickets as a DVC member. Our DVC CM said we pay Florida Resident rates but I was told that was incorrect. Is it for any amount of days or just annual passes?

We are still overly obsessing and crunching numbers.

In the past it was $100 off the going regular AP rate. Should be about the same. There is a link on the member website under benefits and perks that will bring you through to purchasing them online. It will show the proper rates (and taxes)

And adding, be aware that the only DVC discount on park tickets is for the annual pass and premium annual pass.

And all this is subject to change. If you are deciding whether or not to purchase based off of a ticket discount, assume that no discount will be available. Its completely possible for this to be pulled, it isn't contractual.

Thanks. I don't count on much to stay constant with Disney. I do need to ask our DVC rep why he told us Florida Resident discount though. I get skeptical with miscommunication. Give it to me in writing.

Be very careful and make sure that you understand this because owning DVC gives you NO status for FL residency, for DVC or any other purpose.

if a DVC rep said that in writing, they might be terminated.

i try to warn people to do your own homework. even the salespeople/guides that mean well can sometimes give you the wrong impression...

In a way he was correct, particularly if he said something like that it was the same as Florida resident discount rates, because the DVC and Florida resident discounts are the same for the APs and PAPs.

The difference between the statement "DVC members currently get a discount on APs and PAPs equivalent to what a Florida resident would get" and "DVC members get the Florida resident discount on tickets" is in some ways sort of subtle. Not, I know, to you - being an attorney - but in plain English and casual conversation its easy to say the second and mean the first (or hear the second when what is said is the first).

The AP discount was increased last year to match the FL resident rate. Currently $494 vs $649 (incl tax). PAP $622 vs $776.

Years ago, probably 10 or so they did have a ticket discount. It was a nice perk, but it went away and then we got the AP discount. Not sure which I like better.

There used to be a 10% discount on Length of Stay passes. When Disney did away with those and started selling Magic Your Way, there was no DVC discount. Not sure if the AP discount started at the same time.

In the past, I have purchased a discount ticket and then after using it for at least one day I exchanged it for the desired length. It did save some $ depending on time between the original ticket purchase date and the exchange date. I currently have tickets purchased last year and won’t exchange them in 2014 or 2015. Yes, I have exchanged them for the AP.
