What is Disneyworld missing?

I know that I've seen an airplane with Disney Characters painted all over it. I wish I can remember which airport that was. I remember pointing it out to my girls. Does Disney Cruise Lines have it's own airplane???

They need a couple things taken from Universal parks such as huge fans in the trees that blow out misty water to keep you cool on those hot humid days, a super advanced simulator ride ala SpiderMan (there's really nothing like that ride)...and I also think Magic kingdom and MGM could use a couple more nice sit down restaurants.

I'm sure others have chimed in (haven't finished the thread yet) but I for one LOVE the villans and would adore this idea...

i think it would be really cool if disney put in a park, or maybe just a section of a park that focused on the villians!! i'm probably the only person who thinks this, but i would just love it!!

Don't worry more fun for boys is on the way - it's called Pixar

Thrill rides. Real, honest-to-God, "Wow! What a rush!" type, thrilling thrill rides.

Cleaner restrooms.

And more street entertainment. Bring back the shoot-outs, that kind of thing.

What they need LESS of is Princesses. I love Princesses, really, I do. Defend them when people trot out that "Women's Lib = Princesses are bad role models" crap. Think the BBB is wonderful! But we need less boring, dreamy stuff and MORE FUN. ...especially for boys.

That's my opinion on that. :)

I agree with you on all those points. Those big misting fans they have at Universal are WONDERFUL. WDW needs to install them around their parks.

I can't even imagine what DIsney could do with an attraction using the same technology as Spider Man. It'd be super cool, that's for sure.

Pin traders with or without CMs is not the problem here...
Now if you could ban rude people you might have something there...

Decent coffee

Ban pin trading with CMs

We are at WDW now and have had run in's with rude pin traders all day. If one more person cuts in front of me at a cash register to look at a CMs pins I may just lose it. (I need to post the funny story of the lady who lost it at a pin trader tonight).

3. A villain thrill ride would be awesome!
4. Bring The Emperor's New Groove into the parks somehow. I love that movie its hilarious!

Putting the two together.... a thrill ride through Ysma's cave lair. What happens to the riders after they pull the wrong lever! I love that movie too!!

More benches/sitting space!

The beef I have with smoking, esp. when people say things like 'smokers have rights too' and 'it's their choice if they want to destroy their health' is that smoking has very real consequences to the people standing around the smoker (innocent bystanders, if you will). It stops being the smoker's right/choice when they endanger *my* health . I have rights too and I choose *not* to inhale noxious fumes. The problem is that smokers who don't stay in their designated areas take that choice away from me. I would fully support a full smoking ban on the whole Disney property - why not? Beverly Hills did it. Everyone always thinks that business will be lost. The pub owners in Dublin, Ireland staged a full scale protest when a law passed there outlawing it in bars and restaurants, and they did notice a drop in business for about a week. After that - all the people came back and remarked on how much nicer everything smelled and how great it was to be able to see to the other side of the bar!

I love the Villains park idea with some major thrill rides. The kind that US/IOA have but Disney does not.

I'd also like to see a Toy Story themed breakfast somewhere. My boys and nephews would like that one.

BTW - I would fully support a ban on smoking on Disney property. I agree that smokers have their right too, but not when the health and welfare of children are at stake.

I also don't think that people should be able to walk around any park with alcohol. I have nothing against drinking while you are on site, I have imbibed on many an occasion, but I would not carry my alcohol around a park. No reason for kids to see that. (Easily recognizable items, such as a beer bottle. No one can really tell whats in a cup)

You know, with tools at your disposal such as Meet Up you could arrange #3 for yourself if you wanted to.

1. The Electric Light Parade

2. An adults-only hotel or villa (like the Wynn Hotel in Los Vegas)

3. A quilting/sewing/cross-stitch and/or beading event or convention (maybe there is one that I'm not aware of)

4. A full-service Cheesecake Factory restaurant (more than Cheesecake Factory Express in DT Disney)

A retirement home.

What would they call it? And for entertainment would they put in all the old retired attractions for the retirees to enjoy, like Horizons, Electric Parade, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, etc? :woohoo: :rotfl:

How about "Steamboat Willie's Happy Place?"

I may get flammed for this, but what about some handicapped only minibusses?
My 80 year old grandmother went to Disney with us last year in her wheel chair. It seems like it would be so much easier and more efficient for everyone involved if they just had a bus stop at each park and resort for those needing assistance. JMHO

Ban pin trading with CMs

We are at WDW now and have had run in's with rude pin traders all day. If one more person cuts in front of me at a cash register to look at a CMs pins I may just lose it. (I need to post the funny story of the lady who lost it at a pin trader tonight).

You and I happened to be at the parks during a pin trader event weekend. Even the CM's themselves were complaining about the rude and thoughtless behavior that was running rampant as a result of "Pin Hawks". They circle and circle, snapping up anything they can sell or trade for a profit, they don't want to trade with you unless you can increase their collection value--they have no interest in making a new friend or the social benefits of pin trading, instead only in their selfish gain. They will shove people aside and yes, cut in front of anyone in line, as I noticed as well. I would wait patiently in line at a register to get to see pins on a busy CM. Others would run right up while I was waiting and interrupt the current transaction and also cut in front of me who was waiting patiently.

I was thanked and complimented multiple times this week by CM's who were grateful for my polite, "May I please look at your pins?" and "Thank you very much. Have a great day." to EVERY CM I approached to consider trading with. Because not only were these PinHawks being rude to other guests, but they were rude to the CM's. One we talked to was even threatened with violence by one of these kinds of "traders". I talked with them about their experiences, and whether they felt put out by people coming up and asking to see the pins, or if they would prefer they just try to peer at their lanyards without interrupting them. Every one of them said they vastly preferred politely being approached by someone just glaring at their lanyard wordlessly trying to scope the selection. They all preferred the interaction and getting to talk to guests, they said. I of course knew this had to be true, but was glad to be able to hear from them, and let them know some guests really do care about how the trade goes down and not just in the pins themselves.

I was desperately trying to finish a three-pin set of a cast lanyard series. This was the worst time to try and do that. By mid-morning, most of the CM's had long since been scavenged. My luck only appeared when I caught someone who just walked onstage from replenishing their pins, and it was rare.

Finally, my last night there, I was on Jungle Cruise and another young couple, festooned with pins, sat down next to us. I pointed to the gal's lanyard to show my hubby the pin I was looking for, as she had a complete set. "Oh! Are you looking for this one?" she smiled and she indicated the one I was looking for. "I have seen it everywhere and have a couple. I will trade it with you if you have something to trade." My heart leapt! Finally, I had found a pin trader who was kind and generous--a "pin sucker" like me (sucker for making fun trades, regardless of value). I held out my bag, on which I had attached all my traders, including any of the other cast lanyard series' that were much-coveted at the time. "Oh thank you! I have been looking everywhere for it! And I leave tomorrow morning so I thought I would never find it before I had to go home! Here are my traders. Which one would you like?" She screwed up her face and peered at them, then asked her husband if he wanted any. He shook is head. She said, "Sorry, you don't have anything I want," and sat back in her seat.

My heart sank. She said she had extras even, and she refused to trade with me! She even knew I was leaving, and this was my last chance to get one, and she couldn't see the value in making a trade?? I was so upset. But not surprised in the least.

So don't ban pin trading with CM's. It's about the only way I ever get to enjoy trading at all. So many other people trading are either PinHawks, or are so scared of having a run-in with PinHawks they don't want to trade for fear of being taken advantage of (I ran into this with another guest this week as well, and I had to trade her two pins for her one to convince her I wasn't taking advantage of her and simply genuinely wanted the pin she had to trade for my collection).

*Ice skating rink (to beat the heat!:sunny: ) Heck, they could do a whole indoor winter themed place.!
They could put it next to Winter Summerland.

*Wouldn't it also be fun if there were a drive-in...like a real sci-fi diner!
I'd go for that! I miss drive-in theaters!

3. A quilting/sewing/cross-stitch and/or beading event or convention (maybe there is one that I'm not aware of)

I'd even add knitting and scrapbooking to this.

-a bowling alley
And most importantly. They need a meet and greet with Gaston. He's my favorite Disney man. I was never much for princes. (except Prince Eric!) I want my pic with him soooo bad!!!

But I sure don't get the bowling alley thing. It just reminds me of all the bad blind dates I had in college.

I'd LOVE to meet Gaston! Could you imagine just how much fun he would be to tease during meet & greets?

A French restaurant themed after Ratatouille. They could do a lot of neat things out of the movie, like simulating Remy's family eating on an "upper level"...

I'd be there!

Good ole Southern Sweet iced tea

I'd just settle for decaf iced tea, and if it was decaf sweet tea - all the better! One glass of caffeine, I'm up all night. No joke.

And to add to that, more decaf soft drinks that are not Sprite and/or Lite Lemonade. Like CAFFEINE FREE DR. PEPPER!

And a character meal for boys? PRICELESS.
