What is Disney Quest?

I think I remember it when I was 12 in downtown Disney? But when I went to go there it was a lot of money to enter at the time.

Going back to Disney this year but as an adult but my ticket includes Disney Quest, all I can find is 5 levels of interactive tech?

It has a lot of arcade games and virtual reality games. It's very dated and in light of its soon-to-be closure (though I guess this is now up in the air) it hasn't been kept up well lately. All the games are included with admission though, and it has the very awesome Pirates of the Caribeban: Quest for Buccaneer Gold game, which is a real gem. I like spending a couple of hours there, but it's nothing that special. If you like old-school arcade games, it might be worth a look.

Ah I see, I prob would of liked this when I was 12 lol I might have a look still

Disney Quest is AWESOME, and that's 95% because of the arcade games. Of the interactives, the Pirates one is awesome and the Buzz one is fun, but I could take or leave the rest of them. Some of the are severely dated, like the Aladdin virtual reality one.

My 14-year-old son and I have spent entire days playing the arcade games. For me, there was nothing like seeing playing Jungle Hunt, then taking a step to the right to play Karate Champ, etc. They even have games that have dozens of older games in the same cabinet.

Throw in lots of pinball games, newer gems like Let's Go! Jungle and the Tekken series, and it's loads of fun. My kid ended up spending most of his time playing Gauntlet.

The best part is these games are free after you pay admission, so if you get tired of a game, you just move on. No lost quarter.

We're planning to finally go there during Spring Break. We've only gone to Downtown Disney once before and didn't feel like going there that time so skipped it then. Seems like it'll be fun though, it seems to have a lot of old arcade games along with some unique ones.

Is there any update on when its closure will be?

We finally went on our last trip because we had 2 free passes and our third ticket was half off. I still felt ripped off. Total waste of time for us!

I guess you have to like arcade games to like it. It seems good from what I've seen online, it'll be nice for us to finally try it

I heard it got a bit of a reprieve and will be open until 2017?

We went on our recent trip, because I had purchased the water park fun and more option and it was therefore included as one of our "fun" trips. My husband loved it, 2 of my 3 kids liked it and my 13 year old didn't like it. I enjoyed playing a few old school games like Ms. Pac Man, Frogger, etc. Would I have gone without the "fun" ticket? No. It was dark, dated and even though quite crowded, only one of the two food courts was open. My daughter wanted a drink, but the line was about 25 minutes long. So, if you aren't expecting much and you like video games, it can be fun.

And, there was a kid with a Jersey accent behind me smoking a cigar.
He started to bray like a donkey and his ears started to grow.

I found my cricket and got outta there!

;)

We went on a random Tuesday in 2013 with our free passes and had a ball, but it wasn't crowded. We loved the Virtual Space Mountain simulator, and we did the drawing class, and played a ton of video games. But yeah, you really need to be a video game person to enjoy it.

We go there maybe for a couple hours just because we get the free tickets with the MYW package. My wife and I sometimes like to play the Buzz game which is kind of like bumper cars except you're shooting balls at each other.

But... am I the only one who thinks Disney Quest is a little eerie? It almost feels like a bad dream. Hahah. It has to do with the lighting, multiple levels, lack of open space, and older games. It all just has a nightmarish feeling to me, but I'm probably just crazy.

so it's still open? I thought it closed.... curious, as my ds likes it...

Closing has been delayed at the least due to the NBA deal being cancelled. The plans for it are uncertain at this time, but for now it remains open.

I had been wondering the same thing - we've never quite made it to Disney Springs on any of our trips (I think that's where it is?), but we have that water parks add on this time around and I think it's included. Good to know, it sounds like you don't need to buy tokens once you get inside, although perhaps I'm better off if my kids never learn of its existence...

I've never been there, probably because I have zero interest in those type of games.

There are no tokens needed. All the games are free, but there are items you can pay for, like the design a toy and the make your own music video things. You can still participate in those activities and not buy the product though. All the classic arcade games (and ski-ball!) are free to play. No games give tickets or anything.
