what is bonnett creek resort like?

You'll love it though. I was die hard that I wanted to stay at a disney resort but financially the difference between staying offsite and on was huge...so I relented. The view from out room was awesome.... the location is perfect...you are right in the center of everything.
We never minded not having maid service and rather than calling down for extra towels we just threw some in the washer.

We love Bonnet Creek. It is the only non-disney timeshare resort on Disney Property. We have stayed on disney propery and at Bonnet Creek. There are somethings we miss by not staying on property but they are far outweighed by the extra room and savings we get by staying at Bonnet Creek. We stay in a 2 bedroom condo for about the same price we paid to stay in a studio at Boardwalk Villas. We have two teenagers, which are a boy and a girl so we really need the extra beds and room. To rent a two bedroom from a disney owner off of some of the rental sites would cost us 400.00- 500.00 a night plus. You can rent a two bedroom there for 200.00 and if it is last minute and there is still inventory it is less. When you stay a whole week these savings really add up. Some use sites like ebay and redweek.com.
Hope this helps,
Kathleen

Does anyone know if you can get deliveries to the Bonnet Creek? Is there a guard gate? We'd like to do pizza one night. What about sending flowers?

There is a guard at the gate, but they do let delivery drivers through. We've had pizza delivered when we've stayed there.

It sounds like my experience was quite different from everyone else's. Maybe it is different if you are an owner, or renting from one, versus a cash ressie via the WBC site which goes through ExtraHolidays.com. But several weeks ago playing on the net i noticed the price difference for an upcoming trip with my mom that I am treating for. It was insanely more affordable. But I feel like you get what you pay for. My card was charged for the whole vacation instantly. Before I cancelled my Disney ressie, I got really cold feet about staying at a non-Dis resort. Within hours of booking I got online and chose the options to cancel the ressie.

A month later I am still fighting to get a refund. I have been given the run-around from various different phone reps. The weird things they are telling me range from: you booked on the internet so you cannot talk to anyone on the phone; being told call back at this time on this day for this person; etc. I was also told by one rep that no one made me book this reservation it was my own fault. When I told her fine but when I cancel at some point you have to refund my money (well within the cancellation guidelines since I canceled within hours).

During my troubles I looked into Extra Holidays and found that numerous states Attorney General's offices have complaints on file about them and similar problems. During my last phone battle I politely told the rep that I would be doing this next and she said "go ahead, nobody is afraid of you." :scared::scared1::confused:. I then spoke to a manager who promised to clear it up by the end of this week. I almost choked when he ended the call by saying "we hope to book vacations for you in the future." :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Everyone else seems really happy with this resort. I just wanted to share my experience, which has not been resolved thus far.

Extra Holidays is a totally different ball of wax from booking as an owner or renting from one. You'll probably be best served by disputing the charge with your CC company, and letting them work on your behalf.

That's what I would do too. They should be able to resolve it for you much more easily. :goodvibes

Thank you both; that's what we will do. I wanted to see if the manager got it done. That is good advice. The whole thing was odd.

I bought a new Dell laptop on ebay that turned out not to be new after all. The situation dragged out for awhile. They were supposedly trying to rectify the situation, but I really began to think they were trying to drag it out past the time allowed. I finally just contacted my credit card, and it was amazing how fast it got resolved after that... ;)

Unfortunately your experience has nothing to do with BC (it could have been any resort this company resells) but the actions of a third party reseller. It is unfair to blame BC for it when they aren't directly involved in any way. Hopefully you will be able to get the situation resolved soon. It is always good advice to checkout any company you do business with prior to giving them your money.

You do make a good point; but Wyndham Bonnet Creek cannot completely disassociate themselves from this vendor's behaviour. Especially since the site I went to was the Wyndham Bonnett Creek Site. I simply clicked on book a reservation. I assume it then takes you out to the Extra Holidays site. This being said, they are holding themselves out as associated.

I tend to agree with you. I've looked at the site and checked the prices listed there which is specifically called "Extra Holidays by Wyndham". They need to get their act together, for sure.

I definitely wouldn't let that stop me from staying here though. I've stayed all over Orlando in hotels, houses, condos, suites, etc., and this place is my new favorite by far! :goodvibes
