On our May trip I would like to spend one day at one of the water parks. Which has a better children's area? or do they even have a children's area?

I can tell you with my 2 and 3yr old Typhoon lagoon has a really cute "kiddee section" that was perfect for little ones, ankle deep water with tiny slides and water falls. From what I had heard Blizzard beach seemed slightly more geared to older kids, but I have not been there so please anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. It also has beach areas where little ones simply played in the sand all day, hope you have fun!!!!!!:boat: : :sunny:

Both parks have great kids area's but I would lean towards BB with an 18 mth old. The only downside I see to BB is it fills up very quickly and, to me atleast, always seems to be a lot more busy then TL. In all honesty either one is going to be good with your little one, so whichever you choose have a great time!!!

I would opt for TL. The childrens swim area is padded and it is not at busy as BB. At BB, it is geared for slightly older children and can overwhelm an 18 months old child.

My vote is for TL as well.
We went when my son was 13 months old and he loved it, especially the kiddie area.
I thought BB was too crowded and geared more towards older kids.

When people say BB is geared more toward older children do you mean their kid's section? We're going in November with our 4 1/2, 6 and 7 yr old. Which park would be better for them? Which has more Family slides or 2 person slides that we can ride together? My kids are pretty adventuresome.

Thanks...
Jess

BB has more slides, and a family raft ride. However, if its a nice day, be prepared to WAIT in line for everything. We prefer TL because there are slides(no family one), but with less crowds, its a more pleasant experience. We love the wave pool at TL.

Our little tikes want to try Typhoon Lagoon this trip (went to BB last time and had a fabulous time) but I have read that TL's wave pool really isn't appropriate for smaller children because the waves are very powerful. Given the fabulous kids area at BB, we will wait for TL until they are a little older and stronger swimmers.

Gupsmom- If you are looking for family slides, go to BB. It has a good kids area and if your seven year old can swim, the pre-teen area will be a big hit. We have been to both parks and my 3 DD's love them both.

On our May trip in 03 we visited BB once and TL twice. Our 10yr old wanted to visit BB again because of the slides - there are more slides at BB than TL, and they are a little more intense. That said, we found TL a little more laid-back and relaxing. There are plenty of water-play areas for little tykes at TL, and the way the Wave pool is laid out there are little cove areas that are protected from the waves where little ones can play. There also is more Shade available at TL than BB. Either way you can't go wrong, just get to your Water Park at opening hours to secure your "home-base", aka lounge chairs in the shade!

Enjoy!

This will be my first trip with kids. We live near Water Country USA a Bush Gardens Park. We go there every summer and the girls have fun. My guestion is are the Disney water parks any different from others? Should we take a day out of our trip to go or concentrate on the parks since we can do water country in summer.

I may be alone in this opinion, but if I lived near and went to Water Country USA every year, I would not spend the time or money to go to a water park in WDW. They may have more theming, but kids probably don't care. I have seen Water Country USA featured on the Travel Channel, and it looks like a great park, one of the country's top ten.
