I want to book a January 2006 for the Magic while i am on a January 2005 Wonder cruise. I am leaning towards a deck seven cabin midship or aft. Any recommendations would be welcome?

On our first trip we were in a category 11, deck 6 mid. We loved this location, close to pools, kids club, etc. We found it to be quite central.

Our our second, we had a cat 9, deck 2, and we were in quite a noisy room, so this was not our favorite.

This past september, we were in a cat5, deck 7, mid, and we loved the location. So close to the pools, just two flights of stairs, the secret deck. But all in all, for our taste, and only ours, deck 6 or 7 is just as equal. One more thing, there are laundry rooms on both of these decks, so it makes it very convenient.

Hope that helped!

I think I could be anyone on that boat, and be happy :earseek: :earseek:

We were in 6083 a couple of weeks ago. Midship, close to everything. No more than two or three flights up or down the stairs to everything. Just a short walk back and up to the secret deck on 7.

Perfect.

We loved Deck 7 Aft. We were in 7629 as I recall and it was a great location and a comfortable room.

We used to have the cat. 6 with verandah, but never liked the layout of the room, crawling across our bed to get to the sitting area and waking up kids as we tried to go out to verandah. we also liked sleeping in total darkness, so started getting cat. 11 on deck 6 midship and loved it. we like our bed in the back, out of the way. last time we had a cat. 11 on deck 5, back past the movie theatre at the end of the hall and we loved it. it was so quiet-- nobody was ever walking down that way except for those going to those few rooms. this time we requested same area. you are so close to the theatre, deck 4, the restaurants, etc. that we really enjoyed it. to tell you the truth, decks 5, 6, or 7 are all nice. we also had back by the secret deck on deck 7 and that was nice.

We were in 6599 recently and really liked it. If you sleep with a white-noise machine or a fan on at night this is the best room for you. The constant hum from next door put me to sleep instantly every night.

We've been in 7127 for the last 3 and have booked it for the 4th. We like it because it is close to the deck 7 aft deck which is very peaceful.

The cat 11's that run the length of the ship are larger than the ones that run port to starboard. They are the same size as a cat 10 w/out the split bath.

Another vote for 7 aft - enjoyed each morning on the overlook. Most convenient and very quiet.

Help!! What does that mean exactlty, that the cat 11s that run the "length of the ship" are bigger than those that run port to starboard? Which ones are considered to be running in which direction?

thanks.

On deck 5 Forward, rooms 5001, 5005, 5009, 5013 and 5501, 5505, 5509, 5513 run "north and south" on the ship as opposed to most of the rooms being oriented "east and west" (across the width of the ship). Lookee (clickee) here

On Deck 6 Forward 6003, 6007, 6011, 6015, 6019 and 6503, 6507, 6511, 6513 (or is it 6515), 6521 are "lengthwise"

Hope this helps.

We've been on deck 7 four times; two aft and two forward. We liked them all. This cruise we are deck 6 midship. I'll let you know.

Our only experience is with a DCL Cat. 11...#6587 which was right next to the laundry room. Before cruising we weren't sure if that would be a good or bad thing...it was fine. We could not hear any disruptive noise from the laundry and if we needed to we could pop around the corner and do a load ourselves. Also it was very centrally located...halfway between midship and aft elevators...halfway between the top decks with pools and halfway between the gangways to exit for excursions and ports.

We stayed in 6067. This was close to the stairs and the elevators. When we go in 2006 I would like to stay in that cabin again.

Our past 2 cruises were on deck 6 midship. The Valentine's Day trip is deck 2 forward. We love deck 6! It's so close to everything. The rooms were quiet. We'll see what we think of deck 2.

Has anyone been in 5501? I'm hoping this is a good room for my parents (late 50s) DH & I & kids booked an SPR 5520 in June. Parents just decided to book and wanted as cheap a room as possible yet still be fairly close to us. There were some cat 11's across the hall from us, the longways kind. Only 1 left was 5501 so we booked it. I'm just hoping it is a good choice for them. Please reassure me.:worried:

Anyone know about 7119? It is right next door to the elevators and has a blank spot by it which makes me think that it is the CM's elevator. I know the service elevators are VERY noisy with the cart traffic etc. as our very first room 7009 was next to one.

My friends were in 5001 (just opposite of 5501) in September and we all thought it was a great layout for the rooms! If I ever am unable to get a Secret Porthole Room, I am getting one of those sideways rooms (if any are left, so far these rooms haven't been as popular as the SPRs, but I think they are great).

When you walk in, the bed is to one far side and the bath is to the other far side. The couch is in the middle (right where you walk in), so there seems to be more space. Also, it had a steamer trunk which gave my friends more space for storing their things.

Honestly, I would go with one of these rooms if a SPR wasn't open, even over a regular Cat. 10 room. I love the hallways too because there are so few rooms there you don't get much traffic.

We just were on the Majic Dec. 11th-18th and stayed in 5009. We really liked this location as it was close to the kids club, atrium lobby where the characters were alot. Easy to get the camera when you forgot it! It is also midship. This helped with the 15-20 seas! It also did not have the feel of a huge hallway of rooms as deck 6 and 7 as it is a small hallway. Also the secret porthole rooms are in these areas 5020,5022 and 5024. We were lucky to get a secret porthole room for our next cruise in Nov.'06! If we could'nt get the SPR we would book this room again-it is the same room as 5001.
