Hello,

I have a friend going to WDW in October and may have an ADR at the Rainforest Cafe there. Wondering what is at Disney Springs as activities for a 12 year old and a 5 year old.

Please help!!

Thank you

Actual activities, not a ton. It's a lot of shopping, but there are plenty of stores that kids would like. In addition to the ones mentioned above, there's a giant pin store, World of Coke, Sprinkles (cupcake store), Marvel, etc...

Disney Quest is closing in a few months, so that will be gone. They could take a ride on the lagoon in an Amphicar, but not sure how much that costs.

Ice cream at Ghirardelli's! I make a point to stop in every time I visit WDW. Get a chocolate sample and get a waffle cone or shake!

The balloon if they ok with heights, ice cream, candy store, lego store (the money we spent there!) the World of Disney atore is neat, there is a splash area, the toy store, ...There is also some special events every now and again. The coke store has the polar bear character to meet. There is a spot to get photos taken with dif backdrops.

My 5 year old loved the Once Upon a Toy Store (she made a light saber), the cupcake store (she enjoyed using the Cupcake ATM), and the Lego Store (they have an area to build).

There is also a T-Rex restaurant. My kids preferred that over Rainforest.

My kids were quite fond of the fountains...and letting Stitch spit on them outside World of Disney.

I'm not sure how often or for how long they are there but last time we went there were these people painted gold like statues and they would stand there like a statue but then sort of move and surprise people walking by. My four year old was totally mesmerized by this and would have watched it all day. It was one of those unexpected but magic disney memories!

Honestly, the kids will just have so much fun seeing everything, you don't need to worry at all! There's a ton of really really fun touches to the outsides of most shops, like the Lego store, kids can play legos outside (or at least used to be able to) at World of Disney, Stitch "spits" on you, there's pin trading, cute little set ups to have your photos done, or just pretend in....it's awesome. Just LOVE Disney Springs. Can't wait to go again in June!

If you go in the evening there is usually some type of DJ playing music and leading the crowd in dances.

This is what I came to mention. That was the only thing my wife and I did at Disney Springs on our most recent trip (no kids at the time) and we still got a real kick out it. In the end though, it's like my wife is taking a big kid with her to Disney World. :yay:

My son loved the Lego store and had fun at Raglan Road for dinner. It's mostly just shopping, but he found a lot of fun stuff to look at...but then again, I have to alot 15-20 minutes to Target trips so he can wander through the toy section....AGAIN. There's enough toys and things to look at for a short period. We went the afternoon/evening we arrived and will do that again this trip.
