We are also looking at APRIL 6TH-13TH ans not sure how crowded it will be and what the weather is like. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Also would we be able to swim or spend time in the pool?

Thanks!

:)

It depends on where you are from it may feel cool or warm or even hot. Check this thread for weather averages.

April will be variable for crowds. Spring break to off season.

High for the first couple weeks. Medium in the middle and low at the end. Weekends at DLR are always busy.

End of April is really nice, I would say low crowds and great weather. It may get chilly at night, so sweater or light jackets are best, but during the day it can get hot enough to go for a swim.

I just spoke with a CSR from Disney when I was calling for a price and she described "April" as normally rainy season, and "when it rains, it pours"" AS IN TWO OR THREE DAYS IN A ROW!

Easter next year is Apr. 8th so your going to be there then. Plan on crazy.

Did you look at the link I posted?

It is far from a true rainy season. SoCal hardly has such a thing compared to most of the country. Precipiation peaks the end of January and the beginning of February.

As the CSR told you if you caught that rain it's likely the only rain to fall that month.

Here is that thread again.

Sorry Skifast, don't ask me how but I missed it. I just read it and thanks.

I gues my bigger concern now is that it is Easter week. How crazy will the Parks be Mon-Fri that week?

Thanks

No problem it doesn't always stick out when the link is in regular text form.

Unfortunately that is a very busy time. The core of Spring break for most students and when families visit. Not as busy as, but the next busiest time compared to Christmas week.

If it's the time you have to go, make the best of it. Enjoy the long park hours and full entertainment. Stay close so you don't waste time getting to and from the parks. Make reservations now that you can change or cancel if a better time comes along. Use the early and late hours in the park, eat at off hours. Use FastPass.

I was in DL in April 2006 - and the three days I were there, it was quite nice weather with sun, t-shirt and long pants - a hoodie in the evening.
April 2006 was a really bad weather month. I live in Denmark and were visting for a month. It was raining almost every day - but luckily not the three days, we were in DL ;D

Crowds were not bad - at all! Although the sun was shining and it was easter sunday - it was not crowded.
The other two days I was in DL and DCA, also in the spring break, there was not crowded :D I would say GO for it! It's not crowded and hopefully the weather is nice... Thats my exspirence!

Not sure about other schools; but our spring break is April 11th (we live in Northern CA). Last time I went during spring break the lines were really long and the crowds in some areas got to the point that we could barely move through. The plus side thou was the park was open really late and lots of fun shows. We just used Fast Pass as much as possible and took a mid-day break when it got really bad. I won't be going again that time of year but some families go all the time for spring break.

Crazy.
Crazy Busy.
Like, OMG, meltdown crazy busy.
Like, OMG, meltdown never-coming-again crazy busy.

We will be heading to DLR from April 14-23 during our DS's school vacation. Hope the worst of the crowds are over by then. Just read that the Matterhorn will be on refurb -- oh well.

You should be behind the biggest crowds. It will still be busy but not horrible.

As far as the Mattherhorn there are rumors that say otherwise. Don't plan on it being open or closed until March when you can see an official calendar.

Thanks -- We will plan to do less on the weekends to avoid some of the crowds. BTW, I like your location -- ours is the opposite -- Fly to DL, drive to WDW :)

Is the very beginning of May (4th through 9 or 10) a good time?

We were going May 11 through 16 or 17.

I just moved everything up one week because of conflicts with other parts of our vacation to CA.

I think all of May is the same at DL - being regular season, not high or low. Am I forgetting anything?
