what is an e-ticket ride

I also had no idea that those tickets were used in the early 80's. Wow...
I have those treasure books and they have sample tickets in there from the beginning of Disneyland. I just assumed they were in use upto the 70's.
thank you everyone for sharing!

Little Mermaid will be Haunted Mansion-style Omnimover attraction with advanced AA's as used in Tokyo Disneyland's Winnie the Pooh and Monster's Inc. rides, both of which are solid E-Ticket attractions.

I think even Disney is advertising Little Mermaid as the next E-Ticket. It's about time Disney returned to the classic, elaborate thematic dark ride.
As you know the E-ticket classification is subjective. I seem to remember seeing a debate somewhere about whether VLM would be D or E-ticket and people concluding it to be more D. Of course it does not really matter. And no one really knows until it is finished and they they ride it.

I agree that Disney needs some new dark rides like this. POTC and HM still going strong after 40+ years.

Dreams, that's a neat listing!! I will have to compare to the E Ticket we have at home. On our last trip we were pin trading and a very nice gentleman gave DD9 an old E Ticket, it's in PERFECT condition, he kept it flat and protected and in a plastic sleeve. She loves that thing!!!

Thanks everyone! I started going to DL as a child in the early 80's and I don't remember the tickets being used then. I did see the ticket books in the 50 years history thing at DL, didn't know that what it was being referred to. Thanks!
