What is an AP rate?

Hi all:
Just discovered your great Disney Forum tonight. Reading all the posts and found a lot of abbreviations that I can not figure out. The one that baffles me the most is "AP Rate". Can you tell me what it is and how to get this rate. We will be staying in AKL from 11/5-10 and I booked the room w/passes through American Airlines. Reading everyones rates I think I paid WAY too much. Can cancel for a $25.00 fee. Where can I book all these great rates? Called Disney reservations and the AKL was totally booked for our dates.

Hi. AP is "annual pass." If you have one, you are entitled to good discounts on rooms. Some discounts are available now for your time of travel. Only one person in your party has to have an AP for your group to qualify for the discount.

Mousesavers.com talks about annual passes and the attached discounts. There is a "calculator" that helps you figure out if the discount is worth the cost of an annual pass. Check it out!

We are going for Thanksgiving. I am staying with DVC points but added a night at Riverside. I got a rate of $79 plus tax, which came to $88. I am thrilled! All Stars were $49! Rooms available at AP rates are limited.

Welcome! You will love it here. Great information and great people! I would never spend $400 a night for a hotel room to go to Disneyworld, but now we are working on our 4th trip with the help and discounts from these boards.

We only stay at deluxes now and have pay between $120 (AKL standard, but was upgraded to Savannah at check-in), to $189 at Polynesian. This trip we are going to WL for $144 courtyard.

There are lots and lots of tricks and discounts available. Just ask and someone can point you in the right direction.
