What is a 'ressie' ???

Sometimes it just feels like it's a secret club like CLUB 31 or something.....with all the abbreviations, it's like we aren't meant to be in the know unless we're in the club.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I totally understand how you feel and I've been here almost 2 years now!

Now THAT'S Funny! :lmao:

I'm very glad this question was posted, because I have a really hard time with abbreviations on this site. When I found this site, I had to skip some of the trip reports because I couldn't understand most of it. So I'm always relieved when someone else is as clueless as I am! :rolleyes1

Sorry Deb, but it does appear that "Ressie" is on the official abbreviation list. It does not appear this abbreviation will be going away soon.

Notice how I didn't use any abbreviations when I posted to you (except for your name of course).

Well, if ressie can make the official list, then I'm gonna work my butt off to get appy and workie added, too.

Well, I'd advise those of you who don't like "ressie" to stay away from the Brits

I was gonna stay out of this completely but, being 'a Brit' felt I had to comment on some of the statements in your post:

They make pictures into "picsies"

It's actually piccies :thumbsup2

"slippers are "baffies"

I have no idea who calls them baffies - they are just slippers to me :confused3

a sausage is a "banger"

Only if you're from up North ;)

I agree that the World would be a dull old place if we all spoke the same - you say tom-a-to, I say tom-ah-to and all that :rotfl2:

Well, I'd advise those of you who don't like "ressie" to stay away from the Brits. They make pictures into "picsies", a postman into "postie", slippers are "baffies", a sausage is a "banger", an umbrella is a "brolly", rubber boots are "wellies", etc. I could go on and on.

Aye, it would be a wonderful world if we all spoke exactly alike, lest we annoy anyone.

Well said! I like em all! :goodvibes

What is wrong with all of you

BTW I have Ressie for OKW with DW DS DMIL DFIL DBIL and an ADR for BG day one  bangers using a TS of our DDP

Scary - I've only been on disboards a few months now and I understood that sentence...:scared1:
