What is a must pack item for you???

OK, Eva
Just trying to find out what the candles are for. Do you light them on the terrace at night? or around the tub? NICE IDEA!

You got it! I bring a bunch of votive candles and 4 or 5 votive holders wrapped tight in plastic. Be sure to wrap them up good. You don't want them melting on your clothes or such. I bring travel candles when we fly. They are nice to light around the tub, on the patio or balcony, and with a room service dinner for two. For cruises, the flameless candles work pretty well too.

We bring in our own liquor. TSA allows people to carry 5 liters of wine if you wish.

You mean in your checked luggage, right?

I pack those Maxwell house coffee pod things so I don't need filters, some light breakfast items like oatmeal packets, a pint of Captain Morgain, an air freshner for the bathroom, a tiny travel size bottle with Woolite in it to wash out the bathing suits, extra AA batteries, rain ponchos, a travel pack of Clorox Wipes and I ALWAYS pack an empty duffle bag that folds completely flat - I use THAT as my hamper 'cuz nothing ever goes back in the way it came out and I HATE to spend my last night re-packing! This way I just check the dirty clothes basically all together!:thumbsup2

what does it mean when someone only write "bump"? i always see that but never knew why...

Love the over the door hangers. Used that on my last cruise and now bring it with me to WDW (well actually left it in my Owner's Locker). Also a pair of scissors. I ended up buying a pair of Mickey blunt tip scissors at the Poly to have with me. I always need to cut moleskin or cut off a tag, etc. And I always bring my tea bags, sweetener and a travel mug. This time I am going to pack a ceramic mug so I can heat my water in the microwave. I also bought the all in one detergent sheets. They don't take up much room (and they were on sale). The studios only have plastic utensils so I bought a paring knife to slice cheese, etc.

They are "bumping" a thread that has fallen off the first page of topics back up to the front so that it can get attention or not be forgotten.

Great for a newbie! I'm sure that these are somethings that I never would have thought of, thanks! :)

I bring sand toys, glow in the dark sticks, water toys, water spray bottle and our keurig travel coffee pot. The last time we stayed at BCV we only got a studio so I brought my George Foreman 360 grill with us and it worked out well.

One of these (if you have one, if not, link to buy is at the bottom of this post):

Not sure that this would pass through airport customs. :)

We always bring umbrellas for everyone, only $1 at the dollar store!
We also bring salt/pepper & spices, along with what everyone else has already posted.

Coffee, filters, Splenda, detergent, Oxy Clean, Downy, Clorox Wipes, Ziploc Bags, and candles. I'm sure there is a lot more. But that is all I can think of off the top of my head. Of course clothes and toiletries. But I'm sure you already have that covered. ;)

I thought you could not use candles in the hotel?? I have the flameless candles, but I sure would rather the real deal around the tub :cloud9:

Greetings from a fellow West Michigander!

Another good one is to-go coffee cups. My wife picks up a pack of like 8 or 10 insulated throw-away cups with lids at Meijer (though I'm sure they're available anywhere). For coffee drinkers, it's great to be able to have a cup on the way to the parks in the morning.

We have a huge stash of to go cups in our locker. My DH is a HUGE coffee drinker. Every time we go back to the room, he brews a pot, drinks some in the room and has one on the run. Its much easier then dealing with the refillable mugs and having a dirty cup to lug around! We also keep large coffee mugs in our OL b/c the ones in the rooms are too small to be a *real* cup of morning coffee.

Good Microwave popcorn for sitting on the porch at night playing cards...

I agree on the popcorn and the cards! We leave a cribbage board in our OL so when our DD goes to sleep, we make a snack, open a bottle of wine and head to the patio for a tournament.

Other things we keep are pool toys, extra goggles, a pool bag, clickable sharpies for autographs, an eyeglass repair kit (my sunglasses ALWAYS seem to break in Disney). We also have the usuals that are mentioned above, virtually every kind of medication you can think of, batteries, umbrellas.... it goes on and on and on...

You will have a blast filling that locker up!

We always get those little personal fans that are battery operated from Walmart the kids carry around their necks and I carry one larger one that sprays water in my backpack. It's a lifesaver when waiting in line on a hot day and when every one has their own mini fan = no fighting. Every once in a while a spray the masses and everyone is cooled off! The ones at the park are alot more expensive than Walmart.

We usually stay in a BWV BW view 2 bedroom, which is configured like the below:

Boardwalk_Villas_floor_plan.gif

Off to the upper left is the diagonally split master bedroom bath. The cord usually runs from the light fixture above the shower-side sink to the upper towel bar next to the far right edge of the shower door (a distance of about eight feet). Frankly, because of the loops at each end, these can be installed anywhere you have at least one wall fixture that an open loop can slip around. And they hold more and heavier items than the built-in shower lines.

Do you really think that attaching a clothes line to a lite fixture especially for heavier items is a good idea?:confused3 That just amazes me.:sad2:

Invest in OL best money spent for not forgetting things. We do buy pump hand soap for the bathrooms. I still need to pick up a pop up hamper. We just tend to throw it in the washer and sort when we do a load.

If you are going to cook we throw a few of our favorite dry spices in ziplocks.

Oh my, I want to bring wine from home. How do you pack your wine?

I just put it in my suitcase. I make sure that it is in the middle between clothes and not next to anything that would clash up against it and break. I've never had a problem and I've been doing this for well over ten years.

For my stays in WDW we always have a villa with a kitchen. This is my little spice kit that I have assembled. I have all the little baggies labled with the spice name. I just replaced all the spices for our trip in January so that they would be fresh. You can get the tiny baggies at crafts stores, or the professor who used to be a hippie on this thread probably knows of "other" stores that sell them. :hippie:

:lmao: You are funny.

From looking at your spices it appears you are quite the chef of ethnic meals. Perhaps my family could plan a visit during your next visit and we could invite ourselves to dinner. :rotfl:

Since learning about this on the cruise board and using it on a cruise, we take this with us on every visit. We hang it over the bathroom door and put lotions, shampoos, razors, bandaids, medicines, keys, etc.... virtually everything that would otherwise sit on a countertop taking up space. Actually, the one we have now is a mesh see through. Very helpful in staying organized and tidy.
