I notice that to rent a two-bedroom is less than renting a one-bedroom plus a studio. Some people on another thread have suggested renting a "lock-off." What is a lock-off? Is it just another term for renting a 2 bedroom and keeping the connecting door shut by mutual arrangements?

Yes. Lock-off just means that there is an inside set of lockable doors between a one bedroom unit and a studio. If the doors are locked, the rooms can be rented separately. If they are not locked, the unit can be used as a two bedroom unit.

All of the DVC resorts except BWV have some "dedicated" two bedroom units (no lockable doors between the living room and second bedroom) and some "lock off" two bedroom units. All the two bedroom units at BWV are "lock-offs".
