What is a good rate for HGVC at SeaWorld

A friend of mine has some Club Intrawest points that he will not be using. They can be used for Hilton Grand Vacations Club at Seaworld International Center. I would like to rent a 2 bed suite in May 2011. He told me to make him a offer, but I have no idea how much to offer. I don't think that he has any idea what to ask because he bought into Cub Intrawest a few years ago after a high pressure sales pitch and has never used any days/points. So what would be a fair price to offer? I don't want to overpay, but I don't want to take advantage of someone in a tight financial situation either. Has anyone stayed at HGVC Sea World? How much did you pay? Please help....

I think $100 per night would be a good value for you and a reasonable take for him. It might not totally cover his costs nor will it be absolutely the cheapest deal you'll ever see, but it seems like a good compromise.

Since you won't be paying any taxes or other fees, it's probably the equivalent of about $75 a day, which is what a decent hotel room would cost.

Thanks for your reply. I was thinking of offering around $100-$120, so I feel much better knowing that I am in the right ballpark. The hotel looks very nice on the website, so I am hoping we will enjoy it.

HGVC itself charges owners who want to rent 2br units in open season (that is 30 days or less in advance of the trip) $100 (weekday) to $120 (fri-sat)/day so your offer is fair. If you have younger children it is one of the best places to stay in Orlando.

Thank you. I'm pretty sure that my friend does not know this. I feel pretty bad for him because he definitely paid too much for his timeshare that he will not be able to use for many years.
