That is a really good price for Pan Pacific. If you join their rewards club, you will get email for sales. They have a few really big ones each year.
The location is super convenient - but I will tell you our experience this past August wasn't great. We had a Pacific Club room (access to concierge lounge, which was great). I have a pretty severe feather allergy and noted it when I made the reservation and called again the week before to make sure it was in the notes. When we checked in I asked about it and they said it wasn't in the notes and that I would have to wait till the next day to have the bedding changed (it was around 4 pm). I said that was not ok and talked to a manager who seemed super irritated but said it would be handled. We went for a hike and to dinner. When we returned to the room it was still all feathers. My husband went down to the desk and they said they would send someone up. We were coming from the east coast and had been traveling for over 24 hours and we were TIRED. By 11pm Pacific we still had no new bedding. We literally slept using clothing as pillows and our jackets as a blanket. The next day they dropped off the non-feather bedding in a heap on the bed and didn't take away the feathered bedding. We made the switch and then put all the feather bedding in the hallway as I was wheezing. Then no one emptied our garbage for 4 days despite asking repeatedly and we were out of toilet paper. I went to the front desk and showed them photos our mountains of recycling on the dresser and the garbage overflowing and finally someone came up and took the trash and left one roll of TP. I wrote to them about it but never even received a response. Also, the elevators are ancient and tragic.
I would not stay there again - even if they have their act together. I understand staffing challenges, but allergies and garbage are not something to just ignore.
