What Is A Door Sign??!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Just wanted to know what a door sign is. Everyone talks about it.

This is one of our magnetic door signs. Having the sign helps you to find your stateroom better as all the doors look alike. It also lets other DISers know where and who you are as well. seems happy and helpful!
It seems that people on their cruise make these door signs to
1. Find their doors quicker.
2. Let other people know who they are if perhaps we're fellow DIS'ers
looking to find each other or just to show other fellow cruisers where
they are from.
3. And just to have fun making cool/cute signs before going on our
trips so we're even more excited!!!

We do not have any policies that discourage people for asking for information no matter how often the question has been asked. That's what the DIS is all about.

Just wanted to say that I often times can't even pull up a thread that I know the name of because the search function on here is so wacky so try not to be so hard on people.

With a door sign you can also find other DISers if you are playing DIS tag or are having a DIS exchange while onboard. Your stateroom could even be part of a scavenger hunt. Those are other thread topics to researched if you are interested.

Door signs mean you've made it to the right stateroom! Jeff Foxworthy comes to mind, "Here's you sign!"

((Just a little side note...I've seen streamers, ribbons, and wind socks put on the stateroom doors. I love the door sign where the DISer put Disney photos of him/her all over the door. ))

Anyway...if you ever go on a cruise, I think that you would really enjoy making a "door sign" for your family. It's fun trying to come up with something neat to put on there, but it's also cool to have it on your door for all the other cruisers to see, and especially to let everyone know that you're a part of the "DIS"! When the DH and I went on our cruise last Jan., it was our first cruise and his birthday, so I made a sign for both! Sorry that I don't have a pic to post!

[= Maybe the poster wanted to know why people use them...or maybe they thought they are only used for a certain reason or occasion. You can't assume that just because people posted pictures of a door sign that someone actually knew all about door signs and why people use them!
