What is a "day" vs. "week" with National?

I sure hope one of you rental car gurus can help me. Here's the scenario: We arrive at MCO on 11/29 at 11:41 a.m. and we leave on a 10:44 a.m. flight on 12/3.

Using DC member number and the DC coupon, there is a $20 dollar difference depending on whether I'm honest about pick up and drop off times.

If I say we pick the car up at noon and drop it off at 10:00, I only get a daily rate. The total, taxes and all is about $134.

If I say we pick it up at 9:00 and drop it off at 10:00, I get a weekly rate. The total, taxes and all, is about $113.

I recognize it's not a huge price variation, but I could spend $20 another way. Right now I've reserved both. Which one should I cancel? This isn't like returning it a day early, but I don't want to get in trouble over $20.

Help please. Thanks, Sandi

Rental car agencies have a lot of quirky rules like airlines do. In this case, if you keep the car less than so many hours, say 96, you must pay the daily rate.

Some lower rental rates require keeping the car overnight on a Saturday.

If you book a car for a week and bring it back before the required minimuim hours, your rate is refigured using daily rates Which dail6y rates, Internet, walk up, business, Emerald, etc. I don't know.
