What is a Cuban sandwich?

I see that on the menu at ABC Commissary. Anyone know?

It's sort of like a sub, made with roasted pork, ham, pickles, Swiss cheese, mustard, and sometimes Genoa salami on Cuban bread. It's then lightly toasted in a special sandwich press. It's true Florida cuisine. :thumbsup2

They are really good (Cubans in general, not specifically at ABC). And get this - I don't really like: ham, pickles, mustard OR salami. But put all together like this and pressed - DELISH!

I found the one at the ABC Commissary to be hideous. It was edible, but only because I skipped breakfast and had been up for 6 hours. We also found the line to be crazy long at ABC Comm. and no one in our party enjoyed their food. :(

DHS has to have the worst counter service in all the parks. :(

They're AWESOME!! I had one a couple years ago when I went to go see my family in Tampa! They're a must try and VERY popular in Florida. Not sure how good they would be at WDW, but if you're ever in the Cuban part of town of Miami or Tampa - it's a must-try!! But I'm assuming they would be good at that Bongo's place at DTD!

It is NASTY at that place is what it is. My husband got one and took one bite and threw it in the trash. It must have been really bad for him to have done that. Stay away from them at ABC.

ABC commissary definitely doesn't make a good one, never had it at Bongo's in DTD but it's gotta be better.Again if you go anywhere in Miami or the Cuban areas in Tampa like Ybor City and you'll definitely get good ones.Medianoches are also basically Cuban sandwiches but served on a more sweet and light egg bread.
