My 7 year old had a ball trading pins last week. In one conversation with a cast member, he mentioned something about one being a "completer" pin. Can anyone tell me what that means?

The castmember exclusive pin sets are numbered (1 of x) and then there is an extra special "completer pin".

On the back of the CM pins, you'll see castmember exclusive, and then which one of the set it is.

For example, the pins that look like the family stick figure stickers for the back window of the grocery getter, there is father, mother, son, daughter, baby (1 through 5), then dog, cat, fish, bird, pig (1 through 5 again), then there is the princess picture. That is the completer.

The completers were typically sold instead of getting from a CM. They were sold for $1 in a mystery bag as an add on to a $30 purchase at the Pin Stations.
2011 has no mystery pins but another set of "blank pins" with out color, just the metal.

Completer Pins can also refer to pins that are sold specifically in sets. Last year there were series of Chip & Dale and Stitch pins, where 7 pins were sold individually, but you could buy a set of 8 pins which had the 7 pins that were sold individually, and an 8th pin that only came in the set. Like this set:
Pin 77723: Chip and Dale Adventure - Collectors Set

The first seven listed were sold individually for $9.95 and were LE1800s (1500 individual and 300 in the sets), but the last one was only available in the set, and was an LE300.

Since you've already heard every detail I'd have given, I'll tell what first leapt to my mind.

They are pins made specifically to deprive me of cash and drive me insane. (It's all about me. ;) )

Thank you guys! That makes sense.

Do any of you know which is the completer pin in the "good" series. The cast member told us but I can't remember, mostly because I didn't know what he was talking about! LOL.

Dd traded for his Donald "Good" and later we lost that one because it fell off. I think Santa might put a few pins in her stocking!
