Hi,
This is from a blog in the Orlando Sentinel:
Oh, please say it isn't so. Mickey seems to have changed his recipe for the famed Citrus Swirl at the Sunshine Tree Terrace at the Magic Kingdom's Adventureland. I'm not sure I can go on. Melodramatic? Yes, but I loved me that Citrus Swirl.
For years, it has been a concoction of frozen orange juice swirled with soft-serve vanilla ice cream. Absolutely refreshing and delicious. But on a recent visit, it was served as a mixture of soft-serve orange-flavored sherbet and vanilla ice cream. This is not the same thing. Really. It's not.
Even more alarming, the cast member seemed to have no idea when I tried to explain what it used to be. She was unimpressed by my description of the tangy orange juice melting into the creamy ice cream.
I even tried to get her to sell me a frozen orange juice and mix in some soft-serve as a compromise, but she said she wasn't allowed to do that.
Not since they remade the Enchanted Tiki Room into the current "Under New Management" version has their been such a grievous re-do in Adventureland.
At the risk of sounding like a cranky 4-year-old who has been waiting for 50 minutes to see Buzz Lightyear: "Mommy! I want my old citrus swirl!"
