What is a booking form?

I saw it mentioned in one of the threads. We have rented a pool home for Feb. All I have confirming my reservation and deposit are a string of emails. We deposited our deposit directly into the owners checking account. Do I need a booking form?

Right after I made my final payment for house rental, I was emailed a guest registration form (required by the state of Florida) to fill out. Had to list everyone who was going to be occupying the house. This was rented thru an agency, not sure if private owners have to comply. I rented a condo earlier in the year and didn't have to fill out one but that was thru a private owner.

We've had a booking form for both of the villa's rented.

Private owners are supposed to comply but the way they do the form may vary.I always get mine signed along with terms and conditions with the initial deposit.The numbers are needed to check the licence isn't being broken and too many people are in the house.It is usual to have under 21 put there age so that the owner knows if there is a group of teenagers going in and they may increse the security and ask for an adult guarantor .If there are any babies in the group then I can make sure there is enough equipment for them- like my dec guests who require 4 high chairs !I only have 3 so need to provide another.
It may be that cwnhokie's owner will have their man co fill it out on arrival .

We haven't sent our final payment yet, so maybe it will come after that. This is the first time i have rented a house through a private owner and I am making all the plans for my DHs whole family so I'm a little nervous. I want to make sure I have everything covered.
