And see that stuff isn't even an issue anytime I fly. It's like a milisecond of time really any time people ask.Either way, I just want to pick my seat ahead of time and not have to ask 10 people around me "Are you B12...wait, I'm B14...hey buddy, B30 is back there..."
I guess it's really about perspective though because to me picking my seat ahead of time gains me........nothing when I'm actually at the airport. I have a specific seat, great. Now I get to still try to get at the front of the pack so I can get in my seat and make sure I have overhead bin space.
Other the other hand SWA with open seating comes with anxiety about sitting next to who you want to sit next to and overhead bin space but at least I have a specified spot to line up in at the gate. There hasn't been a crowding at the gate like there was with Delta IME.
I guess for me neither is perfect and while I do vastly prefer SWA it's more of a 'pick your poison' type thing IMO when it comes to how they do it and how other airlines do it.
