What is 1 unpopular opinion on Travel you have?

-I genuinely enjoy short trips.
-I'd rather stay in an Airbnb than a hotel.
-I like cleaning up after myself.
-Tourist areas are usually my least favorite parts of a place.
-I don't like expensive fancy dining.
-I hate driving on "vacation" because I spend ~10-15 hours a week commuting.
-Everything about Las Vegas turns me off. I even hated the airport.
-I travel to be educated/see/experience things more often then I travel to relax.
-Cruises sound incredibly boring to me.
-Most of what I enjoy is different than other people and that's ok. I don't think any of us "do it wrong".

I’m not yet back in diapers, but I can’t hold my pee for 2 hours.

You sound like my husband. It seems like he constantly has to go pee.

I already told him that if and when the time comes, I'm NOT changing his diaper.

We took our youngest 3 weeks before her 7th birthday. It was PERFECT.

My youngest had just turned six the first time we went to Disneyland. She couldn't have handled it before then. Older DD may have been able, but unfortunately she had to wait until 9 1/2 for first time).

(ExH and I went to both DL and WDW without the kids a few times before their first visit.)

I don’t like camping or national parks. The beach is boring. I don’t like sightseeing for more than a few minutes. How long can you look at something? I don’t like cruises( haven’t done a Disney cruise yet).

Florida is an awful state.
I always say "it's too bad that Disney World is in Florida." That state, as a whole, is terrible.
I think people sometimes forget why Walt was able to aquire SOOO much land for not a lot of money.
I'd rather spend $4 on a bottle of water than go up for a free cup of iced Florida swamp water.
All of the above. Florida is a pit, not improved by its people.

Sorry if I'm redundant, it just bears repeating!

I have a number of Indian friends that go back periodically - they say people there either live in poverty or live like kings. Squalor and splendor with nothing in between.
Yeah, not interested in India at all. If I wanted to surround myself with ignorance, disease, and squalor, I'd visit the South. It's bad enough most flights to Orlando stop in Atlanta or Texas...

Taking babies to Disney is nuts.
Totally agree. Instead of just making your family's time miserable on a trip, let's inflict your baby on everyone else, too!

New Orleans is filthy and the worst place I've ever been.
I remember during Hurricane Katrina, there was a news report that the levees had broken and there was 6 feet of sewage flowing down the street in New Orleans. My friend from New Orleans was having dinner with us at the time, and he quipped, "Golly, that's 3 feet less than an average day!"

Sorry, New Orleans, I make better beignets than you do.

As an citizen of the USA, I am frequently embarrassed by my fellow Americans when traveling abroad and try hard to not be identified with them. The adage of the “ugly American” is, sadly, all too true.
We usually pass ourselves off as Canadian.

I disagree that airline travel is not what it used to be. We fly on Alaska Airlines and always have a great experience. They treat us like family.

This isn't some fake cheesy video. It is actually pretty accurate..

Wow! Hard to believe someone from there didn't at least know someone who lost family or their home or livelihood. We were two and a half hours to the east and had to take in family and friends for months til they could rebuild.

I have no desire to travel internationally.

I used to want to visit a few places in particular like London, Paris, Rome, etc. But as I get older I know I would NOT enjoy the long plane ride, and I seem to becoming more of a "creature of habit" in our traveling. I enjoy going back to places here in the states that we have been to more than once, revisiting favorite places, finding new favorites, etc. I've seen several here say that Florida sucks, I don't feel that way at all. We've been there many times and have enjoyed every trip. Love going to Daytona and Cocoa Beach, visiting tourist attractions, etc. Last time we enjoyed a wonderful airboat ride in the Everglades and went to a wildlife refuge, it was beautiful! Kind of thinking maybe we should go see the Keys before we get too old to enjoy it. :)

We also love the Smoky Mountains and the National Park, the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area. I think we could go there every year and not tire of it.

No desire to travel to California, unless it would be an overnight stay before hopping on a cruise ship. :)

I used to want to go to Hawaii, but I would prefer Alaska instead. Really hope to get there in the not-too-distant future, just can't decide if we want to fly there and rent a cabin for a couple of weeks, take a few weeks during the summer and drive ourselves, or take a cruise/land tour.

I agree with the majority here about tent camping, yuck! :) We started out that way, then graduated to a pop-up camper when the kids were little, then a 5th wheel. We love camping with that, and leave it parked at our place up north for the summer. Used to have a truck camper for short trips around Michigan, but in March we traded it for a 21' tow behind and really like it so much better. Camping, in a camper, is much, much better than a tent!

I have no desire to travel internationally. Unless it's on DCL to some place tropical. I have no desire to go to London, Ireland, or anywhere overseas.

I want to travel internationally as much as possible. Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, all of it!

Canada counts as international, too. You’re missing out if you never visit.

1. I enjoy cooking on vacation (if we have a condo).

2. I don't reuse towels on vacation. When in a hotel I like new everything every day.

3. We visit certain chains over local flavor sometimes: gyu-kaku, din tai fung, bcd tofu house, burger and lobster . . . even el pollo loco and in and out burger . . Chains, but we love them and don't have them at home.
