What is 1 of your happiest moments from 2003?

1. Moving back "home"
2. Going to WDW on the spur of the moment at Christmas Time

Hearing the ships horn blast out the tune as the Wonder was heading out of Port Canaveral. It was our first time on a Disney Cruise and at Disney.

Good: DH and I took our very first cruise (Royal Caribbean) :boat:
Even better: We came home and immediately booked a 7 night Disney cruise, with DSs, verandah cabin! :)

Bad: My mother died on October 12th.
Good (sort of): All 7 of her children and her husband never left her side, at home, making sure she was as comfortable as possible.

Bad: My DSister discovered she had a brain tumor (a few days before our mother died).
Good: Tests indicate that it's non-cancerous and not growing, and therefore needs no treatment right now.

Bad: Our hot water heater in the basement burst (while I was in NJ when my mom first got really sick and DH and DSs were here to deal with it, without me), destroying the wall to wall carpeting (in the basement family room), furniture and many boxes of things we had in storage.
Good: Insurance covered it; we now have beautiful NEW wall to wall carpeting in the family room, new paint, and had enough paint and money left over to paint the livingroom and buy new furniture :)

I have 2:

November 8, 2003 6:17 AM, our 2nd DS Douglas Robert is born!!!

Later that day, Doug meets DS #1 Cameron! The look on Cam's face when he held and kissed his new little brother was absolutely priceless.

Ann:earsgirl:

That's easy! Joe said "I do!" :)

The second is our honeymoon in Kauai - I have my happy place now to retreat to whenever I need a mental break

Ok, I'll jump on KrnB's post.....May 17th when my most beautiful daughter married a most handsome young man and I became an instant grandmother to an incredible 8year old little boy! A wonderful, wonderful day!

Mine was becoming a grandma and holding grandson, Paul, for the first time!:D

You know, I really need to look on the bright side a little more often. This thread has made me ashamed because when I first read it I thought to myself that 2003 had been such a bad year that I wouldn't be able to think of anything good. And then all the wonderful things that happened in 2003 started rolling through my mind:

1. DD Ashli sang a solo in her school play (Mama was very proud!)
2. DD AShli graduated from high school and got a great scholarship for her freshman year of college.
3. Dh David has flourished in the class he teaches each Tuesday.
4. I have learned a lot of new things about digital photography this year and I've had lots of opportunities to take great pics of so many people that I love.
5. One of my friends and I have become much closer this year after having a bit of distance between us from a problem in 2002. I am very thankful to have this friend back in my life like she used to be and to have our friendship back on track.

Biggest Blessing of all: 6. DD Ashli had a terrible car wreck in the fall and she walked away from it unscathed.

Oh please, I can't believe I started out thinking that I didn't have many wonderful things happen in 2003. I'm going to add looking at the bright side of things to my new year's resolution list!

for me getting a puppy who makes me laugh
going on the magic hearing the horn
i started pin collecting
going to wdw.

no huge milestones like weddings or births, but...

narrowing it down to a moment, i could hardly breathe when i caught my first glimpse of notre dame cathedral, all lit up the night i arrived in paris. sigh.

::yes:: GOOD THREAD IDEA!!!::yes::

Mine would have to be putting down a deposit on our house to be built - 10 minutes from WDW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just one....good grief....that's hard but I'll try.

Celebrating 12 years of marriage to one of the most wonderful men in the world! He is TRULY my soulmate! :love2:

I think the best thing that happened to me in 2003 was that my husband participated with me in our church's Singing Christmas Tree for the first time! It was a wonderful weeklong exhausting, exhiliarating experience.

I graduated from high school in June and was accepted and am now attending my top choice college.

I have two.

1. DD Amani's first day of Kindergarten.

2. December 4, 2003 @ 9:15pm,the birth of our son Jordan.

The day my eldest DS got accepted into TAFE (Techinical and Futher Education) to study the course he wants.:D

So I will settle for a few.

1. My lovely wife and I escaped to WDW for a few days for our 17th. Without child. A good time was had by all

2. Watching my DS10 compete in and place in several large Karate tourneys even though he was scared stiff. Over come his fear of roller coasters. And the best of all stood up to some of his friends when they started picking on a smaller kid. He backed four of them down just because what they were doing was wrong and he was not going to let it happen. :D I guess he has been listening :teeth:

3. My MIL came though breast cancer with flying colors.
