I had never heard of the Cricut until I found this section of the DIS:). I resisted for a few months but when the Mickey cartridges were released, that was the straw that broke the camel's back. When the baby bug went on sale for $125 at ACM last May, I cashed my paycheck from my part time job and went and bought it.

What was the thing that drove you to buy a Cricut?

This DIS board!!! :lmao: I got it at the end of last March when Michaels put it on sale for $140 (the baby bug).

I saw it in the store when it was brand new and just had to have it. My fiancé got it for me that Christmas. I think he has regretted that ever since! :rotfl:

I got the big bug because I was spending so much money on embellishments and stickers . Also my DS is only 6 and well he has many ,many years of school projects to go . IF it helps with just ONE project it is worth all the money I paid for it. :thumbsup2 :lmao:

I haven't had it long but love when I get to use it .

I'm still in the throws of "should I or shouldn't I???" And which one? This board had <almost> convinced me but what is putting me really over the edge is my CMC has the Expression and another girl at our crops as the baby bug and they brought them both to the crop last weekend. I spent almost 2 hours using them and then when DH came to pick me up he was playing with them too! He thinks for my needs the baby bug would be perfect but neither of us is 100% sure yet. I did really enjoy making perfect letters for my scrapbook though . . . decisions, decisions . . .

I really thought I could hold out and save for Craft Robo/Wishblade. Then I went to Kat's and played with hers. That also happened to be the same time period that AC Moore went online and were selling it for $129, new customers got free shipping, and since they don't have a presence in my state, no sales tax. I also figured out how to pay for it myself and not use household money.

Of course, now I want the Expression.:rolleyes1 But DH has seen how much I use the Cricut and so upgrading would be okay, and it wouldn't be one of those things that cost a lot but doesn't get used.

I saw it at a demo at ACM and I fell in love at first sight. I wanted to buy it right then but didn't want to spend the money, the girl told me to sign up for a gift card raffle, I kidding said to her OK if I will I will buy the Cricut. I got home from ACM and my husband said ACM called you won a gift card. The only time I've ever won anything in my life. So I went and got the Cricut and have been addicted ever since. Now I'm the proud owner of both bugs.
I just made some awesome cut outs last night of the fab 5. Well Donald isn't done yet.

I have had a Cricut for over 2 years. I got the baby bug when they first came out. My DH got it for me for my birthday. Then for Christmas this year I got the Expression. I was tired of cutting letters for my titles one by one and I didn't like the look of stickers. I find I use it more for the die cuts than the letters, but I use it all the time. And my DD is getting her teaching degree so I image she will be using it too.

Me too, but being a Mac user prohibited me from buying them. My computer is fairly new but not new enough to have the duo boot processor.

me too, I didn't like being stuck with 1 size letter for every layout. and it took for.ev.er. With the Cricut I can set it up and walk away.

I saw the commercial, went to the website and checked out this board... and my cricut just arrived today!!! Wouldn't you know I am out of town all week! Ugh! BUT next week I am staying with my newborn grandson (son and dil too) so I'll be playing with it for sure!

I had seen the baby bug at AC Moore and when it went on sale for $125 I bought one. After the holidays I found the design studio software at a great price at Wal-Mart. I love it!

My MIL has the baby bug and I get to use it once a month when we all get together for a crop. It was so hard to plan layouts then try to monopolize the cricut for the day to get all the little extras cut out. It'll be so much easier to do it at home (12 days till I get mine, but who's counting).

Everyone had one but me. I think I've used it 3 or 4 times.

I love die cuts more so than stickers.:)

I had a Wishblade first and I hated it. Then I got the Cricut and it is soooo much better! I only wish I hadn't gotten that rotten WB first! I sold it, but lost a few bucks in the deal. Oh well, live and learn. I :lovestruc my Cricut!

I was considering the Wishblade. Can you tell me specifically why you hated it? In the research I've been doing there are posts on other forums of people just saying "after 6 months/a year/etc. I hated it" but no specifics. And why you find the Cricut to be so much better? I thought the WB would be great because you can cut out anything and don't need the expensive cartridges. Thanks!

Mine was a combination of the DIS board and not having scrapped for a very long time. I sort of fell out of it and the Cricut actually got me excited about scrapping again. I just love that machine!!!

By the way, anyone catch the Pazzles demo on HSN the other day? Your thoughts? Personally I think it is just another copy of cricut, but the embossing was pretty cool. It is also like $700.00. YIKES!!!:scared1:

im still should i or should i not!!! ahhhh. but its the disney cartrigdes that are making me lean more towards 'i should' what to do what to do

Explain please! I've been faithfully saving for a Wishblade. I know another poster asked this same question, but I need to hear an answer! Is the learning curve just too difficult? I had myself convinced that it was Wishblade or nothing, but since I saw a friend's Cricut in action, I have been second guessing my decision. What are the negatives with the Wishblade? I would be SICK if I spent that much money and didn't like it/didn't use it. ..............P

<bump>

still curious about Wishblade issues - TIA!!
