What increases your chance of getting a pin code?

Apparently, if your spouse says you're not going back anytime soon then you'll get a pin code every other month.

At least that seems to be the case with us! :rotfl:

I have almost always gotten a pin code when I go onto the Disneyworld site, put a trip together and saved it (you must be logged on to your disney account and have your address and info. up to date).

Last pin code I received was a year ago, when I went in and 'saved' an 8 night vacation staying at Animal kingdom lodge and it included 9 day tickets. The code arrived in the mail about two weeks later (maybe less? But I know it was 2 weeks or less)

Another good way to get a pin code is by calling. Sometimes, they'll be happy to let you know of any great deals that are available, but not always known to the public.

Build a small Mickey shrine....sing Disney songs in front of it daily and PIN codes shall be yours.

:rotfl:

I recently got a PIN and the only thing it could have been was I played this DVC game https://disneyvacationclubsweepstakes.com/ and at the end they ask you if you want them to mail you a DVD about DVC so I said yes. A day or 2 later they called me to confirm I wanted the DVD and I said yes. They asked me questions about how often I go to Disney and how old my kids are and said they will send the kids coloring books with the DVD. The next day I had an email with a PIN

What if you get a pin code after you book your trip?

People have tried for years to figure out the system, but there just doesn't seem to be a tried and true method. In the past, I've tried some of the methods that seemed to work for others -- entering contests, saving a faux reservation, ordering the DVD, taking surveys, etc. None of those really worked for me.

That being said, what has been a sure-fired method for us to be positively SWAMPED with PINs (that aren't just one of the widely released ones), is to actually plan a real trip. Not just fake-plan one, but actually make ressies with the deposits paid. Which isn't as good as it sounds, because the PINs that roll in are always for a time just past our planned trip. Not sure I understand their reasoning on that. Seems like it would make more sense to do it AFTER we return and are already missing WDW. Oh well, not the first time I've thought those people do things bass-ackwards ;)

What if you get a pin code after you book your trip?

As long as you book directly with disney, they are great about adding any deals or adjusting your package price you get AFTER you've already booked.

If you cannot wait to book your trip, then here's what I would do...

#1. Book the BEST deal you can currently find.
#2. if you get a pin (I've never received a pin after I've already booked, but it may happen, as I have heard that it does) and that pin allows for a better deal than you've already booked, then call Disney with your travel info. and your pin code, they will adjust the price/package for you so you can use the better deal...BUT, I know that they only do it up to so many days prior to you leaving. Not sure about the number of days, I'm sure you can get that question answered pretty easily on this board!
#3. If the best package you can buy now is better, than don't do anything with the pin (if you get one)

Of course, you are never FOR SURE going to get a pin, it seems quite random!!! In the past I've had a pin, but didn't use it because the listed deals were much better or even the same. Right now, with Disney's 35% off hotel deal OR the option to have free dinning, I don't know that a pin is going to make the offer much better...because that is usually what the pin has allowed (FOR ME) in the past.

The last two pins I've received were for free dinning OR for 35% off hotels so they would be the exact same offers that are avail. right now to the public. I'm sure people have received all sorts of different deals, but everyone who is planning a vacation there has different deals that work for THEM, because of their situation. Some people don't want to stay on property, some people don't want dinning plan, some people will stay at a value resort, some won't...so that stuff all factors in when it comes to 'what's the best deal' at Disney.

What's better, free dinning or 35% off your room?

That all depends on your family's ages, and how you like to eat, and where you like to stay.

The boys are 8 and 11 and and we are fine with the quick dinning, they are not too much into sit down dinners and we have no problem with the All Star resorts at all as we plan on not being in teh rooms much anyway.

Or if you decide that you don't have the money to go for the next 18 months. I have never gotten so many pin codes!

What does a pin code look like? Maybe I've been getting them for years and have been deleting them from my inbox? :confused3

What address should I be looking for? I do get lots of e-mails from Disney, but none seem to contain any elusive pin codes.

Mine came from Disney Destinations vacation@registration.disneyworld.com with the following subject: Visit again and save at WALT DISNEY WORLD Resort!

If you are staying at a value, free dining always works out to be the better deal than a room discount.

I don't do any of the things listed and I still get pin codes from time to time. Most of the time the offer is for a rate and for dates that will eventually be announced to the general public anyway. :confused3
