what happens when you find out you can't do what you love

you can do it but you compleatly suck

being in de nile

and I just don't know what to do

i kinda know what u mean
I love to play basketball but i dont think im that good at it
but people say im not as bad as i thnk
but i know what u mean...and yes it does suck! lol;)

I don't know if it's worse cuz of that or if it's cuz I didn't listen to my friends

I know what you mean I have been swimming since the age or 3 and since the age of 5 I have been on the swim team. Yes I am pretty good, but I always thought I would make it to the Olympics one day, but now that I am 15 and am just an above average swimmer my dreams are shattered. The one good thing about it though is I can always have a great summer job as a life guard and my swimming skills could get me a free ride to a good college.

yeah. i know.
i really liked this guy.
and he was out of my league. lol
but my friends told me just to forget about him.
but i didnt listening to them.
and he was a jerk.
i shouldve listened to my friends.
then i find out hes going out with my friend.

I think I understand. You just have to go with your gut. If you are really passionate about something, you'll keep working at it until you become good at it. I love design, especially movie costume. Problem is.. I can't draw...AT ALL. Not even the least bit. My trees look like deformed elephants. I'm going to take a class in high school and hopefully learn to at least get across what I'm trying to make. This is what I want to do, so I'll work at it until I can do it well.

my passion is photography.
i spend a lot of my time getting better at it. its going to be my career, and i'll work my butt off to get good at it.

its my life.
and starting out being mediocre at it hasnt stopped me from working virtually every day to get better at it.

Oh Josh you're not on about singing are you?

I love horse-riding but i have learned to accept that I am little over average at it. I mean at best with a good pony i could compete in the lowest BSJA class. And that's where my abilities end.

I would die... :rotfl: jk but it would suck btw, and i have had that happen to me... i used to dance but my dance school closed then i went to another dance school they made fun of me because i sucked... but i loved dancing... but i had to quit because the teacher would make fun of me... in the middle of school, it hurt my ego so bad i stoped dancing... they would call me fat, big butted, ect... just because im not a skiny mini!

I'm in that stage now.

Because I have a knee replacement at 15, most likely I will not be able to play high impact sports. There may be a slight chance I will be able to, but it's not looking that way right now. Unless I want to have my knee replaced frequently, it would not be the best thing for me to play field hockey. (my love, the only sport I've really liked playing)

you have it harder than I do and yet I made the thread to complain

I'm the brat not you (unless you were refering to those kids toys)

It's okay, I don't mind. If I hadn't gone thru what I did and grown as a person, you bet I would've been making the same exact threads! "Aww, my mom won't do my laundry for me!" or "I hate cooking my own food!".

As for dealing with it, you just gotta learn to live with it. It's hard, no doubt, but you have to accept it. Easier said than done, I know.

I'm a singer. My friends all say that I do pretty well, but I think I sound horrible. I recored myself, and I can't even listen to it without cringing.

Bumping this thread for a sec...

If I found out that I couldn't dance anymore...

Oh gosh, I'd be heartbroken. Absoultely crushed.

It's my life.

:(

 for you, Josh.

If I found out that I couldn't do band...

Well, you see, this happened to me last summer. My school doesn't offer an arts program, and guidance at my school told me to take it up with the band director at the School I Would've Gone To. I couldn't get a straight answer from anyone until 2 days before band camp. My friend who goes to another school and I pushed, prodded, and poked all summer just to get in to the band.

And we did.

If you can't do something, you don't take no for an answer. You persevere, push, prod, yell, and make a point to drive the opposing force home.

My school is one of the highest ranked schools in the state. (Well, at least the district is. My school doesn't have that much of a reputation - yet.) Getting accepted to that school is a really grueling process, and everyone deems you pretty damn special if you get accepted. Most of us go to school the first day thinking that we're going to be the best of the best. What a slap in the face.

I've had my fair share of failed tests, lost labs, and forgotten homework. The first month of school was such a kick to my gut, I considered dropping.

But I didn't.

I kept with it.

I'm not the smartest kid in the school, nor am I dumb enough to be put on PIP. [Tutoring.] You find a way to work with your setbacks to make you stronger.

If I couldn't play my electric guitar, and my piano I'd be very crushed.:sad1:

  for you, Josh.

I know how you feel.
I was once told that I wouldn't be able to make it as a dancer because I'm too short.
BUT I got accepted into a prestigious dance academy and have continued living my dream.
Things WILL work out, and if anything, you will just become a stronger person from this.

Oh, and for your OP, de nile is a river in Egypt.
I think you mean 'denial'. ;)
