what if you dont show for a PS?

This will be our first time to WDW and was trying to decide weather to make any priority seatings. Not sure if we want to be tied down to having to be at a certain resturant at a certain time.

If I make a PS and we change our minds do we have to call and cancell within so many hours of the PS? What if you simply do not show up, do they charge your credit card, like not showing up for a hotel reservation?
 
Most PS's don't require a CC "deposit". So if you don't show, you don't show, although it is courteous to call and cancel (you can call for free from any phone in WDW, and guest services at any park or hotel is also happy to place the call for you.)

Fro those that do require a cc guarantee, the cancellation policy varies, and you will informed of it when you reserve.

Just to add my $.02-PS only guarantee you the next
available table for a party of your size at that restaurant.
It's not like a conventional reservation where they hold
a table specifically for you. If you don't show, you don't
show but if you know even at the last minute that you
won't be able to make it just pick up a phone and cancel
as they only do a limited amount of PS for your specific timeframe.
 
We try to cancel our PS's but don't always make it. Don't stress you are on vacation and it's not always possible to find a phone when you are on to the next attraction. In fact I remember several times stopping in at the closest restaurant and asking the CM to call the place and cancel and they looked at me like I was insane and said don't worry about it.

I think they store the information in their computers so that when you call to make a reservation of any kind in the future - the CM on the other end of the phone KNOWS that you are a dirty PS non-cancellor!!! LOL LOL

(seriously - they DO keep an awful lot of information about all of us in those computers!):crazy:

LOL. I had a similar experience on our trip last summer. We changed our itinerary one day and in the morning I knew that we weren't going to use our p.s. for dinner that evening. I called Disney dining to cancel and they acted puzzled as to why I would call. I explained I thought since I knew we wouldn't be using the p.s. that it might help someone else get one for that time slot if they decided to call for same day p.s. They said, "Well, that is very nice of you" and said it was rare for anyone to take the time to call and cancel. So if you are in a park and have to hunt down a phone don't worry about NOT cancelling but if you know ahead of time like I did it only took about 3 minutes on the phone from our room.
 
You can also go to any full service restaurant and have them cancel it for you (They have access to all the PS's)
 
We always try to cancel if we can't make it but WDW forgives us if we can't get to a phone in time!
