Enquiring minds want to know ~ namely me!LOL

I have booked for Canadian Thanksgiving ~ Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon.

But when checking flights, we would arrive into MCO at 11:30 p.m. then by the time we get our bags, car, etc., etc., etc.....We would not arrive until well after midnight!

My question, should I cancel Friday and take my chances that a villa would be available or keep the Friday ressie and let MS have me as a guaranteed late arrival.

Thanks for any and all advice.

I would save the Friday points, stay at a priceline hotel or at the airport area and arrive Sat. am to request a room and check in. Late at night you are at the mercy of what is left. You still might not get in until 4pm but probably will get your requests somewhat met. Now, with that being said, if you plan to use the new free transportation, that theory goes up in smoke unless you get a hotel on site for the first night. That way your luggage will be transfered for you and you can enjoy the parks all day. I arrived once late - never again!

Well - we request NS, near hospitality house. Both late check ins resulted in being as far as you can be from hospitality house. Once we got smoking room and I had to sleep with towels on pillow to breath, and another time we got a handicapped room. We made these reservations at 11 months out and feel the only reason we got the exact opposite of what we requested was the late arrival. Since staying elsewhere and checking in in the AM we have not always got the exact requests, but have never been unhappy. We sometimes wait to 4pm, but that is to be expected.

I would agree. Depending on where you are staying and what your requests are, you are arriving at a very busy time. The last few times I have arrived late at night (midnight once and 9 pm the other time) we did not get any of our requests. (VWL - had dumpster view both times) Now we will plan on other options for Friday night, prob all stars, then move first thing Saturday morning. Hassle? yes, but better than spending a week looking at a dumpster!

Thanks!

I've come up with a better idea! I will take that Friday off so that I can arrive earlier!LOL Hope my boss goes for it!

Checking back it looks like MNSSHP was the Friday night only in 2004 so would hate to go down and miss it! We had such a blast this year!

Thanks Again

We arrived shortly after midnight last trip at OKW and ended up in the absolute worst room on property! It was a handicapped studio as far as you could get from the HH and basically sitting on top of one of the major busy roads behind us. We could lay in bed and hear the traffic and see the cars whizzing by from the patio! YUCK!!!

Not a nice first impression of OKW for sure...

We are arriving at 10:30 PM IN FEB. We decided to stay at Port Orleans that night. Got a 94.00 AP rate and then check into DVC the morning. They transfer luggage for you too. That way we won't get stuck for the whole trip with a room we don't want. Also you could stay at All Star . It is even cheaper.

We are often "late" check ins....
I've made sure to call and let the front desk know approximately what time we will arrive. To date, we haven't had any "bad" rooms due to late check-in.
We have been given HA rooms without being told, but that, lol, was when we were checking in on time. :)

Guess it just depends on the traffic through the resort that day - luck of the draw. Good luck with your trip :goodvibes :goodvibes
