Iraq would be in total and complete chaos. The insurgents would quickly gain control of the country and the oppression of women and children would resume, as if Saddam never left power. Rape, murder, genocide.
OH and lest we forget, it would become a haven for terrorists to plot and plan our demise.

There are troops stationed here that are currently being dispached to LA and MS.

DH said this as well. Iraq would suffer greatly as other posters have said, but this may be the 'out' G-W needs. He could pull out troops and look like a hero.

If we bring the troops back from Iraq, the situation in NO will look like a church picnic compared to what Iraq would become without our military presence. The terrorist world is focused on fighting us on Muslim soil. If we abandon Iraq, the Islamic terrorists won't just celebrate our departure in the Arab streets, they'll come here to finish their jihad. Our problems in NO and the gulf coast will be minor compared to what could happen in this country if we cave in to the radical Islamic threat.
