What if we Have to Cancel

We are thinking about booking a trip for mid June, but it depends on several factors. The trip would use banked 2020 points and some 2021 points. What would happen to the points if not everything works out and we have to cancel, with the trip being just 2 months away?

Any cancel of the trip 30 days or less than check in, the points will go into holding status,

That means all points not only expire at the end of the UY, but can no be booked for trips only 60 days or less from check in. The current UY points would no longer be bankable.

As long as you canceled 31 days or more ahead of check in, then the points get returned in the same status as they are today.

Since the OP said it would be banked abs current UY only, I did not mention that.

But, if she did decide to borrow points, then yes, they would go back in her account as borrowed points!

What is your use year? Your options depend on how much life is left in those 2020 points, and the assumption that you would cancel at the 31 day mark.
