Wondering what to do if a new offer appears on a weekend? My travel agent is only available Mon-Friday? I will be soooo annoyed if I miss something.

What do you do in this case?

I've never seen a special offer sell out that fast.

There is even still plenty of availability for the September offer, and it's been out for 2 months.

Besides, the first possible booking date for new offers seems to always be a Monday. (Unless Monday is a holiday).
Never seen a weekend date as a first possible booking date.

Can you ask your TA? Mine has a contact all week though she is only in during the week.

You're not going to miss an offer if it comes on the weekend. You might go crazy waiting for the TA to get back to you, but you won't miss it. Could miss getting the hotel you want, or the view you want, but you'll get a room with the discount.

If you already have a package booked and need to apply the code, you're going to have to wait for your TA. Disney won't touch it unless they're talking to the TA.

I would ask your travel agent but if you are dealing with one of the agents through any of the online companies you see mentioend often like Dreams, Small World Vacations, Your Magical JOurney's etc the agents will be working on the weekend to apply and discounts that may come out then

If you use AAA I wouldn't expect them to do anything until they open on Monday morning. That has been my experience with AAA

My agent works for one of the three I mentioned above and even though her hours are only Monday-Friday she does work, and gets up very early, to add discounts to reservations the day discounts are released, even if it is a weekend or holiday

I would contact your TA and let him/her know what you have seen or heard. Chances are they have seen and heard it too and are looking through their files checking to see who this offer applies too and are ready to call as soon as they see it listed :thumbsup2

I've always booked my own reservation, but had to use DU for Disapalooza. I feel terribly that I have to bother my TA over changes.

A few years ago, my dad had 3 rooms booked at a moderate for a week in January through AAA. My family was going to be staying in one of those rooms, and that was about the time I started becoming obsessed with the disboards. I found out on the boards that a 4/3 discount came out. I called my dad, and he didn't totally understand what the heck I was talking about (I really didn't either, but I knew enough to know that we should call the travel agent asap to get it applied!). Dad told me to call his agent myself. I called on the day the discount came out, and she was on vacation the rest of the week! I asked if anyone else could help me, and they insisted that they couldn't mess with each others reservations. By the time "our" agent was back in the office, the deal was gone for the resort we were staying at. My dad was paying for 3 familes to go to Disney, so that lost him quite a bit of money. He really didn't seem that upset, but I was super mad!!! AAA gave him a free set of luggage for each reservation. Not sure that quite made up for it.......

You need to contact your TA ahead of time and give them the heads up. There have most certainly been resorts and specific rooms that sell out the first day or the first few days a discount code is released, especially a free dining code. I remember in 2007 when the Wilderness Resort completely sold out of free dining rooms on the first day. There were a lot of unhappy people that day. Pop and All-Star Movies are also known to sell out of standard rooms within a day or two of a fd offer being announced.
