What if Kids can't/won't go on excursions?

What do you do if your children are too young or not interested in the excursions Mom and Dad want to do?

On the Wonder in Nassau, they gave us a beeper and we got to go ashore while my son was in the kids club.

But, this time I am going on the Magic and wondered the procedure is if you want to go on a longer excursion? We want to go to Tulum, but that is 5 hour trip!

You can still leave your kids in the club and go ashore while on the Magic. You also get a beeper on the Magic, but the pagers do not work off the ship except for Castaway Cay. When we left our DD in the club while we went ashore, they just wanted to know when we might be returning. We always called the club as soon as we returned to let them know we were back on board. I think it just depends on your children. If you have a problem with them calling you all the time it might not work. But, if they can understand that you are going to be unreachable for a while then you should not have any problems. You might want to talk to someone with DCL to determine what they would do in case of an emergency.

Sorry, forgot to answer you last question. The ship is in Cozumel from about 8 or 9am to 11pm.
