I will be going to WDW on Monday (May 10th) thru Thursday (May 13). I just checked weather.com and it says rain for that whole time period :worried:

So, what if it rains the whole time? Have any of you been there while it rained alot?
Will my trip be ruined or will it jus be some fun getting wet :umbrella:

It rained everyday we were there last year. Most days we just grabbed out raincoats and did things anyways.

Hopefully you will have some dry day.

PS You may want to look around and get some raincoats before you go. Try to find bright colored ones(not yellow) because if you buy the ones at WDW you will be in a huge yellow crowd.

The rain is great! It really keeps the crowds away. My favorite park in the rain is MGM. Most of the attractions are indoors, so you just have to run from building to building.

Rain will NOT ruin your trip, really.

It rained nearly every day when we were there 2 years ago. We just packed our ponchos everyday and went on with it. Mostly it was small showers that only lasted a few minutes. Had one big storm that scared DS but we just went to an indoor attraction and he never knew the difference.

Ponchos are available and may I suggest accuweather.com No rain in their forecast:teeth:

i think i like accuweather.com much more than weather.com now.

how 1 weather site can say thunderstorms and another 1 can say sun baffles me,,, hahaha

thanks guys! wish for sunnnn :sunny:

We LOVE the rain at WDW. In favt, we now plan vacations in the summer months because of the rain. During those ever-so-common afternoon thunderstorms, we have such a great time watching everyone running for cover.

I swear, people act like they'll melt. We think it's refreshing when it's as hot as it is. Go to the parks and if it rains, enjoy it! (and have fun!

Back in December of '96 we went for a week just to enjoy the holiday decorations and festivities with our 6 year old. It rained like a son of a gun every single day; each day harder than the day before. Forget swimming or hotubs when it's lightning or thunder:( Every parade was cancelled and the holiday events were cancelled as well. It was NOT fun!! We wore those blasted ponchos every signle day and burned them when we got home. I remember getting stuck under a hangover at one of the MGM buildings for over an hour during a bad storm. We made the best of the trip for the first few days but by day 4 we had had it and tried to get Delta to change our plane tickets so we could leave earlier - we couldn't. Ended up at Belz factory outlets shopping. This, however; was very unusual and several cast members told us that this was the worst rain for about 100 years so you should be able to avoid it. This experience didn't stop us from going back though. We were there again about a year and a half later and had a great time - in the sunshine!! I always check the forecast before we leave and even when they predict rain or thundershowers we've had sun so don't worry about it.

The nice thing about the rain, is that the parks crowds generally thin out, making the wait times much shorter.
Just put a poncho on and have fun!

As for it raining on May 10th, today is only May 4th! Just check on www.Orlandoweather.com before you come down to get a more accurate forcast.

It rains in Florida in May. That's the way it is. Don' t worry about it. ChristmasElf is right. It does thin out the crowds. I have a picture of my son, taken at 2:00 on a December Friday afternoon in front of Cinderella's castle. He's the only one in the picture. It had rained really hard that morning ( At one point he and I were the only people on the street in Frontierland except for the CM's.)and so there was no one there. Sure we were wet, but we were in Disney World. I'd rather be soaking wet at Disney then here freezing our tushes off waiting for spring to get here.

Besides, you know what they say in Florida; "if you don't like the weather wait an hour for it to change".:jester:

Don't let the rain runi your vacation. I just throw on a poncho and keep going. And weather websites have been wrong in the past.

thanks everyone.......

I really wouldnt mind being in the rain..... I just wasnt sure if this would put any damper on the festivities of being in DW for the 1st time!!!!!

I dont care anyway- im going to disney world :bounce:

Take some old sneakers and a poncho and just go. The crowd does thin out but we just keep on going.

Bring a light sweater with you as we learned getting soaked and then going and sitting in an airconditioned venue is NO fun.
