What if I lose the tickets (a/k/a worrying about everything)?

With the need to pull out our tickets to collect AND redeem FP (including if I send DS alone to use a FP), and because I worry about everything, I started wondering what would happen if we lost one or more of our tickets. This has actually happened to a family member at WDW years ago (left on FP machine), but I've read that replacement is more difficult at DL.

I had to purchase real tickets to be shipped through the mail because I was using VISA rewards. So, I have no email confirmation, but I do have a printout with the long numbers that correspond to each ticket, with my name and address. I also have the redemption card used the purchase the tickets. It seems like that would be enough, especially if only one ticket was lost? Of course, I plan to guard the tickets with my life, regardless, and make sure DS does as well.

For general park tickets, they can usually be replaced if you have a picture of them on a cell phone.
Picture of the barcode on the back of the ticket.
I generally take pic's of the front and back of each ticket for the trip.

If you're worried about loosing a MHP ticket once in the park, no need.
A colored wristband is issued as you enter the park, to identify you as a party guest.
The FP machines are closed during the party as far as I rememeber.

Definitely take a picture of the tickets. Sometimes I email myself pictures of important things too. If I lost my phone I could still check my emails on a computer for the copy.

We recently went to the parks with our 4 kids and I didn't really like having to hand out their tickets at the beginning of each FP ride then collecting them again after everyone had scanned them 1-2 times. We upgraded to AP's, so for future trips, I plan to make a copy of their AP barcodes and put a laminated copy on a lanyard. They can use that to scan themselves into rides and we don't have to hand out their AP's each time. I think that will cut down on my worry about losing them. Since you already have the tickets you could make a copy before you go.

Definitely take photos/screenshots/send emails of all tickets, MHP tickets, hotel reservation info, dining confirmation numbers, etc. (i.e. basically anything important that you don't want to lose). Keep it all in a folder on your phone so you can find it quickly if you need it. Should an emergency happen, head to City Hall or Chamber of Commerce with your copies of the tickets and bar codes. If you have the credit card used to purchase the tickets, even better. A CM will cancel the old ticket and issue you a new one, no problem.

I don't know if you have to wait until they are activated or not, but you can also link your tickets to the Disneyland App, and then you basically have a digital copy of them at all times. Of course, you'll still need the paper tickets to pull FP's, but at least you can't lose the digital tickets.

Yes to taking a picture of each ticket with your cell phone! That Guest Services can research out your exact ticket if anything happens :) MUCH better than email confirmations or receipts or anything like that.

Maybe an isolated example, but on my last day in 2014 I lost my ticket. Because they take your picture when you enter the park for the first time (and I may have had a FastPass too), they were able to look me up that way and print me a new ticket, no questions asked. Granted, I was inside the park when this happened.
