What if FP+ are too close together?

Does Disney's fancy new system prevent you from selecting your FP+ too close together? I'm wondering what happens if you miss you FP+ window because it took forever at your prior FP+ ride?

This is what I have reserved right now. We are planning to park hop and then return to MK to use our FP+, so I want them in the afternoon, but prior to parade, fireworks, etc. We will be in the parks early April, so spring break time. Busy!

My FP+ -- is this doable??

4:00 - 5:00 pm - Space Mountain
5:30 - 6:30 pm - Enchanted Tales with Belle
7:00 - 8:00 pm - BTMRR

Enchanged Tales with Belle is our top priority because we've never seen it. Space would be my last priority (rough).

i dont think the FP+ can overlap either way so you always have an hour from the last one to get to the next one.. like today i had
thunder mountain 11:20-12:20
space mountain 12:20-1:20
buzz 1:20-2:20

i road thunder mountain around 12:20 i was able to get off that, go ride pirates then hit my space mountain window right near the end so i could go right to buzz after i got off.

youll easily be able to make those times above.

1- Yes.
2- You can reschedule another FP+ (which attraction you can get depends on availability.)
3- That'll work great.
4- OK.
5- Why don't you change that to an attraction you prefer that is less rough?

My daughter wants to ride space, so I endure.

Thanks for the feedback. I think the FP+ times should work, in theory. But I'm hearing the horror stories about hour waits even with your FP+ and it will be spring break, so crowds will be thick.

Even if you do wait an hour (which I think is highly unlikely) you still have an hour and half to make your next FP+ before your window closes. Remember you only have to have entered the queue by the time the window closes.

Yes, it seems like plenty of time to me. We'll plan to be at Space at 4 sharp just to hedge our bet.

I don't like the idea of having to schedule another FP+ if you miss your window because you were stuck in another FP+ ride. That wouldn't work out well at all because all of the Belle FP's would be long gone. :( Maybe I should try to move Belle to be first and Space to be last.

When we were there 3 weeks ago, we had FP+ scheduled that overlapped. We had barnstormer scheduled from 3:30 to 4:30 and the Mad tea Party from 4:15 to 5:15.

It worked fine, but just sayin', we did have them.

You will be fine. Honestly.

And it makes sense to have them in the order you have them for touring as well.

Interesting! I guess the system is not "smart" enough to prevent you from overlapping FP+'s. That's probably okay when it's not peak times, but if it were holiday time, it might not work so well.

My friend keeps reminding me that she stood in line for an hour to ride Toy Story Mania with her FP+, but that was back when they were still issuing paper FP and were rolling out FP+ and I think they may have issued too many FP. Or maybe the ride was down earlier.

That is highly unusual. I've never seen the system to allow one person to have overlapping FP times. It will usually not even present you time choices that overlap another FP time, much less allow you to book them like that. The only time I've seen an overlapping time is with a ghost FP.

It allowed me to do it when I went in and changed a FP+, not during the original scheduling. I didn't try then. No idea if it mattered.

We often had ours schedule one hour right after each other. We found that if we'd do the first one in the first part of the window, we'd have time to do another attraction between it and doing our next fastpass and still have plenty of time to spare. With yours spread out like that, you'll have time to do things in between your FP times as well.

It shouldn't matter. When you go to change a FP+ it should not give you any return windows which overlap with any other valid FP+.

I was not allowed to pick overlapping times.

Most FP+ queues were faster than old FP- queues I've experienced in the past, and we were just at WDW over a pretty busy weekend (MLK, Jr) At least it was a busier weekend than my last two prior visits before full FP+.

The only time the FP+ queue was a bit slow was one day BTMRR was down for a bit. Ithink the ride reopened at like 11am, and we were saddled with 1:30pm-ish FP+ So we were there just about when the queue was at it's worst. I didn't cofrim that they were allowing folks with earlier FP+ times to ride, but looking at the FP+ queue, I think that's what happened.

Also, there is still a little tolerance if you up past your FP+ time window. We were like one minute late once, so we asked. It was just what one CM told us, but she said they still allow a few minutes grace (like they've been doing the last year). Probably a ten minute grace period.

One important thing to know before you go - with FP+ they have to read your ID before you can enter the queue. So if any back up does happen- it happens OUTSIDE the attraction. once our bands were scanned, most FP+ queues were very quick. Lots of folks were freaking out when they saw FP queues outside the attractions.

With shows and switching things around a bunch I was able to get some overlapping FP+s and some with only 20 min windows instead of an hour. It also works around your ADRs so I had some goofy times like 10:55-11:50 type stuff.

Without paper FP in the mix we found waits to be significantly shorter in the FP+ lines than they ever were for FP lines. The only exception is if a ride is down they let you go back later and BTMR had been down for a few hours so we did wait about 15 mins in that FP+ line but the standby line was 90 mins and as we walked by they were not letting any standbys on just trying to clear the FP+ line for at least the 5 mins I could see. We got on TSMM in about 3 mins from the FP+ line WAY better than ever before.
