What I love about DLP...

I love that it's European. It has an authenticity as the fairy tales and Disney characters ARE European. The castle sits comfortably and the entire place feels like it belongs.

The US parks pretend to be European. You can really feel the difference.

I love the castle
pirates of the Caribbean.
the themeing.
Walt's

I just love being there  I know it's not perfect but I don't care, it would be unrealistic to expect it to be. I love that it's not a complete clone of WDW (which was my first Disney park), I love the similarities but embrace the differences. I appreciate there are more than a few issues that upset some people more than others but you only have to spend a little time on the other boards on here to see similar dissatisfactions with WDW, DL and DCL.

I hope I get chance to go back to see Dreams again soon! :goodvibes

Awww, it's been lovely reading back through what everyone loves about DLP.

I've thought of a few more things!

Watching DDs face on IASW, she loves the ride so much and really enjoys spotting different things everytime.

The music in POTC - Yo! Ho! Ho! Ho! A pirates life for me! :goodvibes

Exploring the caves and skull rock in Adventure Land.

BBWWS - for me, a trip to DLP is not complete without a trip to the Wild West Show!

Thank goodness for this thread! I was just reading the more negative one and getting very depressed, but this one has really cheered me up. We are regular WDW visitors but haven't been to DLP in a number of years. I was started to regretting booking for next month, but this thread has made me feel better. Thanks to all those who have posted nice things about DLP :).

Lauren :)

Brilliant thread!

We can only afford to go back every three years. OK so we are staying at NPB and doing the premium meal plan this time, but we're pushing the boat out. So I love that DLP is accessable for those who cant afford the funds for America.

I love how my asd children dont have to cope with a long haul flight to be able to get to the magic.

I love watching my 10 and 18 year olds faces lit up when we told them we were going back to the magic.

I love how my kids have grown up with DLP. I was pregnant with my son on our second visit, but he insists that he was there!

I love the magical feeling of seeing the castle as you walk under the station.

I love hearing the music you hear piped around the parks.

I love BTM and POTC and Crush and Stitch Live and Magic Carpets and ... Oh darn it! I love them all! Even IASW! (In my familys opinion the scariest ride in the park!)

I love the characters.

I love how beautiful our castle is.

We're hoping to get there one day so it's fun to hear all the great things about the park. We've only been to WDW, but hope to do DLP in a few years. Already excited about it!

What I love about DLRP...

" our versions of POTC and BTM are way better

" I love that we are so close to the magic and can get there in a few hours. We just chuck everything in the car, put on some Disney music and we're there in no time! Plus you can bring back loadsa stuff without baggage restrictions!!

" our castle is the prettiest

" we have some great detailing and unique features

" how close the 2 parks are to eachother so you can just pop over to the other or the village

" how we can experience different seasons - one of my fav memories was a Christmas trip when it was snowing and we were drinking hot chocolate on Main Street and we just stood there taking it all in - truly magical

We have the most beautiful castle out of all Disney parks, I can officially say that after visiting them all.

We have so many awesome characters that the US parks NEVER use, and don't even have!

It's near Paris, the most beautiful city in the world.

We have some of the best attractions, like POTC and Big Thunder Mountain. I also think our Small World is a lot better than the other parks.

And it's my home and I have so many wonderful memories of being at DLP that I will continue to visit no matter what.

I never thought we would ever go to DLP, because we have had so many good times in Florida.
However, the past 2 trips there Joshua has been ill on the plane which is why we tried Paris. With his needs in mind (autism/non verbal) we had to start looking for something different.

So what I love about DLP is the fact we have been able to give him his Disney fix without the tiring travelling to Orlando.
That he seems so happy and relaxed there.
That for the first time ever we can dine out in restaurants because he has never wanted to before (this has changed our lives so much because he will dine anywhere with us now home and abroad, he just would always get upset before).
I like the fact we don't have to drive and that everything is close together.
We love the Disneyland Hotel, everything about it, the room/the breakfast/the location, and that smell!
We have probably spent more hours at the Disneyland Park in 4 holidays than we have in 12 to Magic Kingdom in WDW - partly because we stay so close to the park and the climate being cooler.

There are things I wish were a lot better but there are so many positives too, Joshua loves it there. Overall it's a great place to be.

That is so nice to read. :goodvibes
